Main purpose of role:
- This role will help us to ensure get desired quality of product from the tools, also speed to market by contributing in injection molding process which will enlighten customer satisfaction.
- Molding feasibility study for new product.
- Provide training to manufacturers.
- Transfer the knowhow in toy industry about test molding on new injection molds to new and emerging manufacturing vendors
- Support new tool on-boarding in emerging manufacturing countries.
- Provide manufacturing guidelines/plans.
- Capture extreme molding process case studies for driving improvements in molding process.
- Success factor – faster debug of molding issues, optimization of manufacturing process helps in improved efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure to achieve targeted production with set parameters.
- Monthly molding process audits
- Assure molding documents properly documented and distributed to manufacturers
- Provide guidelines on test molding to manufacturers
- Provide on-site investigation and technical advice while encountering tooling running problems for injection molds built by emerging manufacturers for new product introduction (npi) as well as duplicated or replacement molds on request
- Collect case studies on tool debug and frequent breakdown maintenance on molds or else, and feed back to tooling sites, product development categories and tooling coe for driving dfm
- Validate injection molds’ quality, reliability and capacity then arrange delivery between sites between or within emerging manufacturing countries
- New raw materials trial and development
- Coordinate with cross functional team and monitor tool transfer from different regions
- Drive tool health check-ups to increase tool efficiency
- Maintain database
Requirements
- Diploma/degree in plastic engineering (preferably cipet, b. Tech polymer)
- Solid experience in injection molding process and troubleshooting for 8 years or above
- Good command in English to communicate with in-land and overseas partners.
- Proficient in molding process and plastic raw materials
- Basic knowledge of injection molds must require, in depth tooling knowledge will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of MS office and PowerPoint
- Good problem-solving and partnership skills
- Innovative, passionate, initiative and adaptive
- High degree of mobility
- Knowledge in scientific or precision molding
- Knowledge of the toy industry quality standard and compliance is preferred but not a must
- Should be willing to travel extensively within India

You will be a part of collaborative environment contributing to the creation, evaluation, and implementation of end-to-end manufacturing solutions for Apple s Acoustic & ICD (Inter-connector devices)modules. The role entails :
- Evaluate product and industrial design goals to understand the dimensional, cosmetic, and functional priorities for the product
- Collaborate with Global Supply Managers and Apple s manufacturing suppliers to align on a manufacturing development strategy with clear goals, deliverables, and schedules
- Identify and validate suitable fabrication equipment and processes to meet all Apple design and operational requirements
- Develop and document processes including all parameters, consumables and secondary operation requirements to meet defined specifications
- Conduct process optimization DOE s, using data-driven and hands-on approaches together to find solutions to complex challenges
- Communicate ongoing process development status to cross-functional teams and lead discussions to align design requirements with manufacturing capability
- Willingness to travel internationally to support manufacturing partner sites and collaborate with in-region team members
- Familiarity with a phase gate product development approach

- Injection molding process basic knowledges: injection machine selection key tips, injection machine type and trouble shooting basic knowledge
- Plastic tooling design related: single shot, double shot, LSR, insert-molding, tool design experience, DFM working experience and Mold-flow basic knowledge
- Control (SPC) data analysis. Identify automation opportunities and justify automation projects based on automation line efficiency metrics
- Tooling issue FACA experience: dimension and cosmetic typical issues FACA analysis capability
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years plastic tooling (injection molding preferred) experience in the molding and / or plastic materials industry. High gloss cosmetic part tooling engineer experiences are a plus.
- Able to communicate (verbal and written) technical information in English. Fluency in Mandarin is a plus.
- Bachelors / Masters in Engineering (pref in Plastics Engineering, Chemical Engineering)
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent knowledge of plastic materials and design for manufacturing in terms of geometry and cosmetic quality.
- Experience debugging complex tools and processes.
- Experience processing a wide variety of materials.
- Experience in managing multiple tool development programs with regional and overseas vendors is preferred.
- Mold Flow analysis capabilities are a plus.
- Must be able to work independently or within a team. Host the meeting and do the presentation, & use concise one pager for technical related communication.
- Able to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Experience in massive data analysis, coding and machine learning would be a plus.
