Job Summary:
As a Trade Analyst, you will handle the buying and selling of RoDTEP scrips (duty credit certificates) while ensuring compliance with DGFT regulations. Your role will involve coordinating with exporters, buyers, and traders to get the best deals, keeping track of transactions, and staying updated on relevant trade policies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. RoDTEP Scrip Trading & Transactions:
- Buy and sell RoDTEP scrips in the open market.
- Negotiate and finalize deals with buyers and sellers to get the best prices.
- Process Payments on Banking Platforms, Bank reconciliation
Payable and receivables management for trade deals
Market Research & Pricing Strategy:
Analyze market trends to set competitive pricing.
- Track demand and supply dynamics for RoDTEP scrips.
Maintain relationships with traders, exporters, and brokers for efficient trading.
Documentation s Compliance:
Ensure proper documentation for RoDTEP scrip transactions.
- Maintain records of transactions, agreements, and approvals.
4. Coordination & Communication:
- Coordinate with exporters to facilitate the smooth transfer of RoDTEP scrips.
5. Reporting s Analysis:
- Generate reports on RoDTEP trading activities and revenue generated.
- Monitor policy changes that impact the RoDTEP trading process.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency in scrip trading.
Qualifications & Skills:
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Foreign Trade, or related fields.
Key Skills:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in MS Excel and trading platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple transactions and ensure timely execution.

The impact you'll make
Ensures legal compliance and provides import/export administration and control within government rules and regulations, including appropriate licensing for shipments. Reviews contracts for required clauses and identifies omissions. Interfaces with internal and external customers, foreign order administration, freight forwarders, customs officers and other functional areas to ensure coordination and logistics of shipment. Selects carrier/forwarder for shipment of products and prepares documents for freight forwarders.
What You Will Do
- Manage entire activities related to foreign trade operations & compliance
- Knowledge of regulatory laws, trade policies, international logistics operations, inventory management, import/export documentation for global markets like the US, Europe & Malaysia.
- Report any discrepancies in documents and coordinate with respective carriers/brokers for correcting the documents
- Review and audit of import documents for correct EOIR & VAT registrations used & control documents variance
- Through knowledge of Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) US customs operations related to import-export trade & availed duty exemptions.
- Mitigating US FTZ duty leakage
- Identified the gap in TMS for duty leakage on FTZ shipments & strategically onboarded suppliers to TMS reducing the duty liability of the entity.
- Ensure 100% compliance rate on all import/export transactions per all applicable laws & regulations, policies, licenses, including those specific to foreign trade zones.
- Support management on monthly KPI and adhoc report requests
- Knowledge of drop shipments & return shipments
- Knowledge of AES filing & global transportation
- Knowledge of DG operations is an added advantage
Who We're Looking For
- Minimum 3-5 years working experience in any of the following areas: logistics, transportation operations, Trade Compliance, customs brokerage, export or freight forwarding with Bachelor degree in Commerce, Science or Business
- Experience in US customs regulations
- Import/export processes, documentation, and trade compliance
- SAP ERP and share point sites
- MS Office (Well versed at Excel)
- Power point / Power BI (basic)
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal)

Reporting to the India to MEG & LATAM Trade Manager, the successful candidate is responsible for process related aspects and commercial animation of India to MEG and/or LATAM sectors with target to develop and maintain processes excellence and support the commercial monitoring activities.

- Assist the back-office team in the booking release processes by mastering & optimizing the allocation control tools (CSA, COA, Traffic lights).
- Monitor and analyze vessel performance, loading factors, daily positions, and allocation.
- In-depth analysis of the booking report in terms of commodities, customers, destinations, allocation.
- Proactively source for reliable market intelligence (rates/capacity adjustments) to stay on top of market changes.
- Recommend to the Trade Manager necessary actions to maximize the filing factor.
- Leverage from the group's quotation tools (SpotON, AQUA Contract) to adapt to market dynamics.
- In-depth analysis of the daily cargo readiness report in terms of commodities, customers, destinations, allocation.
- Assist the Trade team in all pricing activities (rate negotiation, rate filing).
- Communicating on a timely basis to the commercial team on service rotation changes, rate revisions, etc.
- Maintain effective relationships & communication with internal & external stakeholders.
KPI
- Adherence of deadlines in submission of weekly reports, CBF and forecasts.
- Accuracy of weekly reports, forecast and CBF.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree holder.
- 3-5 years of working experience in the shipping or / and logistics industry.
- Shipping process-related experience is a plus for successfully managing the position.
