**Job Description**
+ Experience in Operational Modelling Software - PTV VISSIM/ VISUM
+ Good knowledge of the micro-simulations concepts and theories and how they relate to VISSIM.
+ Operational Analysis - Using SYNCHRO/ SIDRA/ HCS. Data analysis (including spreadsheets and databases) and problem-solving.
+ Produce base network and ability to calibrate and validate. Knowledge of Signal coding using VAP.
+ Produce forecast networks and matrices. Interpretation of model results and ability to prepare technical reports.
+ Familiarity with UK/US/ANZ/Middle East transport modelling guidance. Mapping tools (GIS) and able to interpret quantitative transport models.
+ Experience in programming (Excel macro, Python, R) would be a particular advantage.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Transportation Planner/Modeller with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in transportation engineering, transport planning, and traffic modelling. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in transport modelling, traffic simulation, and transport-related analysis, with proven proficiency in tools such as PTV VISUM and PTV VISSIM.
The candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality project outputs across a range of assignments, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and technical excellence. The role requires close collaboration with the team lead, project manager, client delivery teams, and project reviewers to ensure seamless delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and support a wide range of transport planning and modelling projects, with a strong focus on traffic simulation and demand modelling.
- Develop, calibrate, and validate traffic microsimulation models (PTV VISSIM) and strategic/macroscopic models (PTV VISUM) to evaluate network performance and future scenarios.
- Conduct transportation and traffic studies, including traffic impact assessments, multimodal analysis, parking studies, and feasibility assessments for urban, residential, and commercial projects.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical proposals, including developing methodologies, drafting technical write-ups, preparing modelling approaches, and estimating resource requirements.
- Prepare and present technical reports, modelling outputs, and recommendations to project managers, clients, and stakeholders.
- Apply best practices in transport modelling and simulation, introducing innovation and efficiency in project delivery.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, while maintaining accountability for tasks, timelines, and deliverables.
- Collaborate closely with the team lead, project manager, client delivery team, and project reviewers to ensure seamless and high-quality project outcomes.
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior team members on modelling methodologies, software use, and quality standards.
Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and technical excellence in all project outputs, consistently meeting client expectations and international standards.
Skills Needed:
- Master's degree in Transportation Planning/Engineering (or equivalent).
- 8 years of relevant professional experience in transport planning, traffic engineering, and transport modelling.
- Proven expertise in PTV VISSIM for traffic microsimulation (mandatory).
- Experience in macro-modelling software such as PTV VISUM (mandatory).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoTURN (mandatory).
- Ability to develop, calibrate, and validate transport demand and traffic simulation models.
- Experience in preparing transport analysis reports, traffic impact assessments, and feasibility studies.
- Hands-on experience with GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) for spatial transport data analysis.
- Familiarity with other macro-modelling platforms such as CUBE/EMME/DYNAMEQ is advantageous.
- Familiarity of Noise modelling software like Soundplan is advantageous
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and provide actionable insights.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with team leads, project managers, client delivery teams, and reviewers.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal), including the ability to present technical results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary, international team environment and keenness to learn new concepts and software is appreciated.
