Purpose of the role:
Reporting to the Quality & Environmental Systems Manager; review, develop and issue Material Data Reports (MDR) to customers requiring certification for supplied products.Plan, monitor and follow up all aspects of new product introduction as well as changes to existing products.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Perform contract review for new products and document all customer requirements.
- Determine and order gauges/checking fixtures for new products as per quotation.
- Prepare and issue tasks for each project via the Product Planning System (PPS).
- Ensure Tooling Sign Off (TSO) forms are completed prior to orders being placed.
- Ensure the APQP methodology is used for all new OEM products and others where appropriate.
- Monitor tasks for each project and where necessary take appropriate steps to restore original schedule or minimize further delay to those that have fallen behind schedule.
- Monitor and review projects with the aim of achieving customer requirements.
- Keep Customers and internal departments informed on the status of projects.
- Participate in Design Team reviews as required.
- Evaluate Supplier Off Tool Sample submissions.
- Ensure Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions are timely and complete.
- Perform Sample submissions.
- Prepare and issue Inspection Instruction Sheets.
- Maintain records on all projects in the PHS file in accordance with company procedures.
- Liaise with staff from other departments with regard to documentation required for developing product certification.
- Review documentation for compliance to customer’s requirements and prepare Material Data -Reports (MDR) to accompany goods supplied.
- Liaise with Warehouse staff when releasing products for shipment
- Provide input into the CNPR process for implementation requirements from a QA perspective.
- Participate in problem solving activities as required.
- Participate in the company’s internal and supplier auditing program as required.
Occupational Health and Safety

Qualifications and Experience
- Engineering degree or 10 years equivalent experience.
- Sound literacy preferably with defence, automotive and industrial terminology.
- Confident with E-Business techniques (e.g. E-mails, EDI, ASN).
Skills & Attributes
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Computer skills i.e. spreadsheets and database programs.
- Report writing skills and ability to read Engineering drawings
- Sound Organisational skills
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills as this role speaks to many stakeholders
- Previous experience in the manufacturing industry desirable
