Role & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive critical care to adult ICU patients, including hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and advanced life support interventions.
- Lead daily multidisciplinary rounds, collaborating with nursing, respiratory therapy, and specialty consultants to formulate and implement individualized care plans.
- Perform invasive ICU procedures such as endotracheal intubation, central venous catheterization, and arterial line insertion with precision and safety.
- Monitor and adjust mechanical ventilation parameters, sedation protocols, and vasoactive infusions to maintain optimal patient stability.
- Participate in quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives, analyzing ICU outcomes and implementing evidence-based protocols to enhance patient safety and reduce complication rates.
- Provide after-hours on-call coverage for emergency ICU consults, rapid response activations, and seamless patient handovers to ensure 24/7 continuity of care.
Must-Have
- MD in Critical Care Medicine (recognized by MCI/NMC) with valid registration.
- Minimum 3 years of post-MD ICU or CCU experience in a tertiary care hospital.
- Proficiency in mechanical ventilation, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and point-of-care ultrasound.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
- Strong clinical decision-making skills with the ability to communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated competency in ICU procedures: central venous catheterization, arterial line insertion, and intubation.
- Fellowship or additional certification in Critical Care Medicine or Pulmonology.
