About You You’ll bring a passion for safety, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to influence outcomes across all levels of the organisation. Depending on the role, you may have: Relevant qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety, environmental science, emergency management, or related fields (Certificate, Diploma, or Tertiary depending on role level). Strong understanding of WHS and environmental legislation, standards, and risk management practices. Experience in WHSE roles within large complex organisations, or high-risk environments. Defence, civil or commercial construction, oil, mining and gas, engineering or similar industries will be highly advantageous. Experience with high-risk activity management and incident investigation methodologies (e.g., ICAM). Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Project in particular); experience with WHSE systems is a plus. Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and influence stakeholders to drive cultural and behavioural change. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage across diverse teams. High level of integrity, resilience, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach. Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the Mechanic – Steam and Gas - is to safely accomplish the installation, maintenance and repair of the heavy rotating machinery used mainly in power generation applications. Turbine Mechanics work closely with Supervisors, EHS personnel, and the Operations Department to achieve these goals. You may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Read blueprints, schematic drawings and technical documentation to determine proper work procedures.
  • Install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and other drawings in industrial establishments.
  • Dismantle and assemble machinery and equipment using a variety of hand, power, pneumatic and hydraulic tools.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs on power tools, hand tools and training equipment.
  • Move machinery and equipment using hoists, cranes, chain falls and trucks.
  • Align machinery and equipment using hoists, squares, rules, micrometers, plumb bobs, dial indicators and/or laser alignment equipment.
  • Perform machining and welding operations for making various parts for lab and shop training equipment
  • Perform material and machine inspections using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, rules, calipers, protractors, and torque wrenches.
  • Responsible for shipping and receiving all major pieces for T&DC, plus all shipping, receiving, inventory, and control of tools, equipment and supplies
  • Determine equipment specifications and prepare parts lists for purchasing, consisting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic devices as needed to complete assigned projects.
  • Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Availability to travel and be away from home for extended periods of time
  • Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments – Field
  • Required Qualifications & Experience :

  • Degree or associate degree in Technical Field, Gas Turbine Systems Technician preferred
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial service equipment including various pumps, motors, fans, generators, and turbines.
  • Must have experience performing equipment alignments using either laser or traditional methods.
  • Must have Driver’s License
  • Must possess minimum required hand tools.
  • Desired Characteristics:

  • Qualified level. Able to successfully perform all requirements of the job properly.
  • Possess advanced skills and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of a particular field of specialization.

  • Good mechanical/technical skills.
  • Good oral communication skills and critical thinking ability.
  • May be required to handle time-sensitive tasks and maintain a schedule within operationally challenging environments.

    Job Summary

    Riggers are highly specialized in moving jobs that cannot be accomplished by ordinary means and use equipment expressly designed for moving and lifting objects weighing hundreds of thousands or even millions of pounds or kilograms in places where ordinary material handling equipment cannot go. He/she performs assignments, as directed by the crew chief or field supervisor, involved in the installation of power plants, facilities, and new oilfield pumping units and maintenance/inspections of existing oilfield pumping units. You may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads, to ensure safety of workers and materials.
  • Test rigging to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools
  • Select gear such as slings, shackles, chokers and winches, per load weights and sizes, facilities, and work schedules.
  • Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, using chain falls, gin poles, gallows frames, and other equipment.
  • Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under, and/or around obstacles, using multi-point suspension techniques.
  • Manipulate rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support materials such as heavy equipment.
  • Clean and dress machine surfaces and component parts.
  • Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, using bolts and clamps
  • Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use.
  • Use proper rigging apparatus (. chains, slings and ropes) and techniques to ensure safe and proper lifting is performed.
  • Work in adverse weather conditions including high and low temperatures and windy conditions
  • Ensure that safety is included in all aspects of each job he/she performs.
  • Use this position to influence operational personnel and visitors to do the same.
  • Demonstrate support / use of JSAs for every task and actively assist the work group when they are developed.
  • Attendance of all scheduled safety meetings and training.
  • Participate in regular scheduled audits of equipment and tools.
  • Identifying sub-standard acts and near misses.
  • Assist in all safety and environmental incident investigations to help determine root cause.
  • Ensure that he complies with the required STOP Observations and Near Miss Programs
