Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of verification methodologies, test plans, testbenches, infrastructure, and platforms to produce thoroughly verified and robust products
  • Partner closely with our architecture and design teams in specification and customer requirement reviews
  • Represent verification methodologies in front of key customers and executive management
  • Architect and help implement best verification practices, IP development and productization, quality assurance, release automation and improvements on the existing methodologies and flows

  • Exposure to block-level and/or sub-system and system-level verification
  • Highly technical competence that includes a track record of effective verification of complex digital designs
  • Solid understanding of standard ASIC verification techniques, including: Test planning State of the art Testbench development Code and functional coverage Directed and SystemVerilog-based constrained random stimulus generation Self-checking – scoreboards, predictors, or reference models Assertions
  • Solid understanding of verification methodologies (UVM or OVM) and standard testbench languages

  • Ability to support testbench lint/rule checking, profiling and automation using perl or python scripting
  • Familiarity with advanced verification techniques such as: Modular/Reusable object-oriented testbenches, Fault/stimulus injection, FPGA prototyping and Formal verification HW-SW co-simulation and RISCV or similar debugging experience

    Tool and Methodology Expertise:

    Position Requirements:

  • Bachelors/master’s degree in electrical/Electronics/VLSI with 4-6 years of experience
  • Experience with Formal tools such as Cadence Jasper, Synopsys VC Formal, Siemens Questa Formal with prior implementation experience on SoCs, CPUs, GPUs or other high performance computing devices
  • Proficiency in writing SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA) or Property Specification language (PSL)
  • Solid understanding of digital design concepts, RTL design, hardware description languages (Verilog, SV, VHDL)
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills to identify and resolve complex design issues
  • Ability to analyze counterexamples and provide actionable feedback to design teams
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Perl, Python, TCL) for automation
  • Experience in common communication protocols such as ARM AMBA, I2C, SPI, UART is preferred

    Principal Design Verification Engineer

    About the Role
    As a Principal Design Verification Engineer at Analog Devices, you will be recognized as an in-house expert providing technical leadership in developing verification strategies for our most complex analog and mixed-signal designs. Working under consultative direction toward long-range targets, you'll architect sophisticated verification environments, mentor teams, and collaborate across organizational boundaries to ensure product quality and reliability.
    With minimal guidance, you'll apply deep technical expertise to solve critical verification challenges while representing ADI at industry forums and in interactions with key customers and partners. This appointment-level position involves significant influence on verification methodology adoption and technical decisions that impact crucial organizational objectives.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Technical Leadership : Define verification strategy and architecture for complex digital and mixed-signal designs, providing expert consultation across multiple projects and teams
  • Verification Innovation : Pioneer advanced verification methodologies and frameworks that drive organization-wide improvement in verification effectiveness and efficiency
  • Cross-Organizational Influence : Drive verification decisions across organizational lines, collaborating with design teams, product managers, and executives on verification requirements and sign-off criteria
  • Complex Problem Resolution : Lead resolution of the most challenging verification issues requiring specialized knowledge and creative solutions
  • Technical Mentorship : Develop talent across the organization by mentoring verification engineers at all levels and establishing verification methodologies and best practices
  • Industry Leadership : Represent ADI at industry forums, contribute to standards development, and collaborate with tool vendors to influence future verification technologies
  • Strategic Quality Assurance : Establish verification metrics and quality standards across product lines that ensure design accuracy and reliability
  • Customer and Partner Engagement : Act as prime technical consultant with key customers and partners on verification matters, representing ADI's technical excellence
