+ Allegion India is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to execute VAVE projects for Schlage products of NA region
+ Responsible for the ideation, design, development, and technical analysis of low to moderate scope and complexity, either independently or with team. Contribute to multiple projects, Generate VAVE ideas, evaluate, analyze, and develop design concepts for components, and assemblies
+ Must have a full understanding of their area of specialization; should have a significant focus on further growing and developing their technical skills and gaining experience
+ Expected to proactively collaborate with others on routine work and are accountable to incorporate into design to meet the quality and schedules
+ Actively seek out opportunities to increase productivity by suggesting and driving improvements within the platform, technical practices and delivery procedures
**Key Accountabilities:**
+ Contribute to multiple projects, involving single components or subsystems related to VAVE projects
+ Under the direction of the senior engineers / project leads efforts to implement projects for the different businesses
+ Develops working knowledge of product family in assigned area, with awareness of system design
+ Work closely with Product Managers, Sourcing, Marketing and Manufacturing teams to develop and deliver projects to launch
+ Keep up to date and work with Engineering team to implement the latest market technologies and industry standards
+ Keep abreast of technology, materials and process development in related and aligned areas to our business
**Job Specification:** **Job Knowledge/Technical Skills/Qualifications**
+ Must be a BE/BTech in mechanical engineering at a minimum from a reputed university
+ 3 - 5 years of experience in working on mechanical product development involving plastic, sheet metal and diecast components
+ Desired to have basic understanding of all phases of product development processes - initiation, requirements management, concepting, detailed design, verification & validation, handing over for production with accountability of deliverables across phases
+ Ability to collaborate and work within a team environment
+ Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment and expected to maintain a close, working partnership with other functional departments
+ Proficient with 3D CAD software (preferably CREO) and Windchill
+ Good communication and presentation skills
+ Demonstrated strong analytical, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills.
+ Good working knowledge of Engineering Fundamentals, DFMEA, ECN, GD&T, drawing for production, tolerance analysis, Engineering Calculations and other product development associated techniques and tools
+ Good knowledge on different Manufacturing processes - Sheetmetal, Die cast, Injection molding, Machining, etc.
+ Good knowledge of Materials and Material selection approach
+ Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a bonus
+ Strong in related engineering subjects such as Strength of materials, Kinematics/Dynamics, free body diagrams, Engineering Calculations etc.
+ Good knowledge of Design of Manufacturing & Assembly, Tolerance analysis, GD&T and other product development associated techniques and tools
+ Good knowledge of DFMEA, Design verification plans/Product testing
+ Quickly learn established engineering processes (like Product development process - ECN, BOM, RFQ, etc.), standards, methods and procedures needed to accomplish assigned tasks with discipline

The candidate will be part of a team assisting in the delivery of efficient engineering support and solutions to customers while also contributing to the development of the Indian semiconductor ecosystem.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Work on creating/updating components specification sheets and part/assembly 3D CAD models.
- Preparing the part/assembly drawings as per the given standard.
- Working with cross-functional teams for ECN and ECO activities.
- Participation in design reviews and design optimization activities.
- Undertake any other duties of a reasonable nature as required by management.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical/ Mechatronics with a minimum experience of 2 years
- A master’s degree will be preferred.
- Must be comfortable working with US-based timings.
Mandatory Skills:
- Should have a good working knowledge of SolidWorks.
- Sound knowledge of sheet metals, Machined and plastic parts.
- Good understanding of various manufacturing process
- Has good communication skills (written & verbal).
- Excellent command of Microsoft tools- Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Able to work with limited supervision and an agile environment.
Good to have:
- Basic understanding of GD&T & Tolerance stack up
- Understanding of FMEA
- Knowledge of design life cycle management tools e.g. Windchill/PLM.
