Job Purpose:
Welding is responsible for overseeing all welding operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence in welding processes.
Principal Accountabilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of welding supervisors, engineers, and operators.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance welding operations and achieve organizational goals.
Operational Oversight:
- Oversee daily welding operations to ensure production schedules are met.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure efficient use of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
Quality and Safety :
- Ensure all welding processes comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols to minimize risk and ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain high standards of quality and safety.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality.
- Stay updated with the latest welding technologies and industry best practices.
- Lead initiatives to introduce new welding methods and equipment.
Customer and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with customers to understand their requirements and ensure satisfaction.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., design, manufacturing, quality) to ensure seamless operations.
- Represent the welding department in meetings with senior management and other stakeholders.
Analytics and Reporting on Quality
- Analyze & approve CAPA report and take appropriate countermeasures to mitigate repetitions.
- Responsible for implementation of all CAPA reports across the organization including horizontal deployment.
- Responsible for welding documents preparation like WPS, PQR, WPQ, Welder Continuity records, welder training records etc.
People Management and Development
- Train all zone QC on proper method to use check sheets and ensure that the same is followed in production without any miss.
- Co-ordinate with customer quality manager on customer requirements and all other aspects
- Training to all welders – on welding quality through welding engineers.
- Train and develop all zone QC and zone leaders on welding quality.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in welding operations, with at least 10 years in a managerial role.
- Proven track record of managing large teams and complex welding projects.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of various welding processes and techniques.
- Certifications: AWS Certified Welding Engineer (CSWIP Certified) or equivalent is preferred

We have an urgent requirement for a Welding Engineer/ Inspector for shutdown/ Maintenance (Oil and Gas EPC Company) at the Saudi Arabia Location.
Qualification - DME/ BE (Mechanical).
Additional Certification:-
CSWIP 3.1, CWI, IWE
Experience (Oil and Gas/ Chemical/ Petrochemical Industry: - Shut Down/ Maintenance).
Min 8 years for DME or Min 5 years for BE.
Shutdown - Brown Field Work Experience preferred.
Duration - 8 Months FTC
Job Description :
1) Understanding of ASME B31.3 & BPVC Sec VIII, ASME SEC IX, AWS D1.1.
2) Knowledge of WPS, PQR, and WQR
3) Support welding troubleshooting
4) Liaise with TPI/PRC for welding-related approvals.
