**Main responsibilities:**

About the Role


We are seeking a highly motivated Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to support and optimize our Workday Expense and Coupa systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering and defining business requirements, managing system configurations, ensuring seamless integrations between Workday and Coupa, and delivering insightful reports and analytics to support decision-making.

This is an on-site role in Bangalore, India , requiring strong collaboration with Finance, Procurement, and IT teams across global regions.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role with a focus on Workday Expenses and/or Coupa .
  • Strong understanding of expense management, procurement workflows, and P2P processes.
  • Proven experience in requirements gathering, process documentation, and stakeholder management.
  • Proficiency in Workday Reporting (Advanced, Composite, and Matrix reports) and Coupa Analytics .
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities across global teams.

Preferred:

**Required Knowledge and Experience:**
+ Full Time Bachelor's degree form a recognized University
+ 7+ years of Human Capital Management systems to include Workday configuration experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years Human Capital Management systems to include Workday configuration experience.
+ Minimum 6+ years of experience supporting Workday applications.
+ Expertise in Workday Recruiting with first, and then secondly **HCM** .
+ Excellent communication skills, fluent spoken and written English.
+ Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Information Systems.
+ Experience working with HR systems and desirably, Workday Pro or Partner certification.
+ Experience implementing Workday.
+ Experience working cross-functionally.
+ Experience working in a virtual team.

In our Global HR Digital Enablement Department in Medtronic, we are committed to aligning technology offerings and best practices with business needs. As a Senior Workday Support Analyst, you will be responsible for ongoing support and maintenance for the functional areas of Workday. You will have a wide breadth of functional knowledge, specific expertise with using and maintaining systems, work with complex problems, issues and processes, and will lead key functional stakeholders through risk and impact analysis of Payroll and Core HCM enhancements and change requests. You will make decisions about system issues relating, but not limited to, business processes and system configuration, ensuring global compliance with business specifications, varied plan provisions, statutory requirements, and up-/down-stream impacts.
As a Senior Workday Support Analyst, you will be required to combine Human Resource and specialized system knowledge. You will work with HR Centers of Expertise, vendors and/or IT on activities related to designing, implementing and maintaining core human resource technologies.
**Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.**
+ Manage case escalations to the Workday COE.
+ Support the domain lead for various functional areas of Workday who will provide oversight and work direction.
+ Analyze, design, and configure features and functions within Workday for 1-3 functional areas.
+ Configure and implement business process enhancements.
+ Participate in functional and regression testing for enhancements, projects, and upgrades.
+ Work within an agile team to create iterative solutions that meet business needs.
+ Perform fit/gap analysis on processes to drive continuous improvement.
+ Combines Human Resource and specialized system knowledge to recommend, implement, and plan for improvements, enhancements, and new features for systems.
+ Provides analysis and consultation related to programs, policies and practices that obtain, record, and process worker information or HR support related data.
+ Analyzes technology capabilities to produce information used to maximize and sustain workforce productivity and effectively deliver HR support to the global organization.
+ Develops a strong understanding of our HR strategic priorities, the HR technology landscape & IT's priorities.
+ Process day-to-day security assignments, including evaluating the request for alignment with work responsibilities, obtaining approvals, and ensuring proper documentation for audit support.
+ Other responsibilities as identified.
**Required Knowledge and Experience:**
+ Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of Human Capital Management systems to include Workday configuration experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years Human Capital Management systems to include Workday configuration experience.
+ Minimum 6+ years of experience supporting Workday applications.
+ Expertise in Security, Compensation, Talent & Performance or Recruiting.
+ Excellent communication skills, fluent spoken and written English.
+ Experience implementing Workday.
+ Experience working cross-functionally.
+ Experience working in a virtual team.
+ Demonstrated critical thinking, ability to collaborate, analyze data & systems, generate ideas, and set high standards focusing on the customer while fostering diversity & inclusion in everything that you do.

Your New Role **:**
This position will participate in functional projects and support configuration activities for new functionality and enhancements within Workday 's Human Capital Management (HCM) , Absence, and Time Tracking product suite. As part of the global configuration and solutions team , this role will work to ensure configurations in Workday comply with local and country specific requirements in APAC, EMEA and LATAM and will liaise with HR and Technology departments in countries outside of the US , related to the responsibilities referenced below. This role will be a cross section of requiring the analytical skills of a business systems analyst, the creativity of a solution architect, and process knowledge of a functional superuser
Your Role Accountabilities :
**Workday Implementation and Project Delivery:**
+ Become critical Workday configuration resource to successful ly implement new functionalities and/or processes globally / on a regional level from development through delivery within project timelines
+ Able to work independently and resolve complex Workday bugs impacting global / regional level workforce, identify the issue and develop configuration fixes
+ Ensure thorough documentation of requirements, conceptual design, and end-to-end processes
+ Collaborating with other functional teams (e.g. People & Culture ) to ensure efficient delivery of new configuration in Workday
+ Conduct discovery sessions with stakeholder(s) and/or project sponsor(s) to understand business requirements and deepen service offerings to our Employees, Supervisors and Business Partners .
+ Demonstrate Workday configuration through the development of a proof of concept (prototype)
+ Supports configuration testing efforts executing testing for any new Workday features being adopted
+ Become a subject matter expert for Workday security, supervisory organization and processes ensuring system health and sustainability
+ Execute daily maintenance activities including but not limited to role assignments, security audits, organization set, etc. Identify and articulate process improvements, understand potential Workday constraints and offer practical solutions on how to best deliver the Workday solution
+ Participate in Workday upgrade process including testing
+ Support management on ad-hoc projects as required
+ Assist in development of training materials and partner in change management efforts and organizational readiness
+ Develop relationships with key stakeholders and customers in remote locations
**Continuous Improvement:**
Maintain process controls to help design, implement and/or monitor operations as part of initial configuration/implementation and continuous improvement:
+ Participate in various process improvement projects, and assist in the process and system change implementations
+ Serve as a n advisor in Workday configuration knowledge to HR Services team at large and HR Business Partners and COE stakeholders
+ Participate in update trainings as needed
**Project Management Office:**
This position will support PMO efforts for Workday projects
+ Understand and execute critical path activities and resolve or escalate issues as needed
+ D eliver on project/process documentation as part of transition of support to operations
+ Understand and apply WarnerMedia security and privacy policies, standards and processes to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of data
**Perform other duties as required at the request of senior members of HR Services** .
**Work Experience:**
+ 4 + years of experience in HR or Payroll operations including 1 - 2 years previous applicable experience with Workday HCM functional processes required
+ Experience in development and implementation of process and systems changes required
+ Prior experience in multinational environment required
**Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification:**
+ Bachelor's degree in a business related field, or equivalent combination of training and work experience required
