Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Officer to join their team, operating under a remote work arrangement. This role is critical in ensuring that all operations adhere to the highest standards of environmental protection, health, and safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring EHS programs and policies to minimize workplace risks and ensure regulatory compliance. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of national and international EHS regulations, risk assessment methodologies, and safety management systems. Your duties will include conducting regular site inspections (virtually or as needed), performing hazard identification and risk assessments, developing and delivering safety training, investigating incidents and near misses, and recommending corrective actions. You will also be instrumental in promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organization. This is a remote position, requiring excellent self-management skills and the ability to conduct virtual audits and training. You will need to be proficient in using digital collaboration tools and possess outstanding communication skills to liaise with employees at all levels, as well as regulatory bodies. A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field is essential, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant EHS experience. Certifications such as NEBOSH, CSP, or CIH are highly advantageous. The ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and implement effective EHS strategies is paramount.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive EHS policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards.
  • Perform risk assessments and implement control measures to mitigate risks.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management.
  • In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, training, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in safety management systems and risk assessment techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • NEBOSH, CSP, or CIH certification is highly preferred.
