Job Description
Job Title : Raw Material & Sand Testing Engineer – Foundry Quality Assurance
Department : Quality
Experience Required : 4–7 years in Foundry/Metallurgical Quality Control
Industry : Foundry / ductile iron/ Metallurgical
Key Responsibilities :
- Incoming Raw Material Inspection :
- Conduct quality checks for raw materials such as pig iron, CRC scrap, ferroalloys, and other additives.
- Inspect and approve/reject incoming CRC scrap based on chemical and physical parameters.
- Sand Testing and Evaluation :
- Perform regular testing of Green Sand , No Bake Sand , and Neno Sand to ensure conformity to process specifications.
- Evaluate sand parameters such as AFS grain fineness, SiO₂ %, Moisture %, Compactability , and Green Strength .
- Chemical Analysis :
- Analyze and monitor ductile iron parameters including:
- %C (Carbon)
- %Si (Silicon)
- %Mn (Manganese)
- %P (Phosphorus)
- %S (Sulfur)
- %Mg (Magnesium)
- %Al (Aluminum)
- %VM (Volatile Matter)
- Hardness & Mechanical Testing :
- Conduct and evaluate Brinell/ Rockwell hardness tests as part of the quality control process.
- Support metallurgical and microstructure evaluation where required.
- Laboratory Standards and Documentation :
- Maintain documentation and test reports as per ISO , NABL , and internal quality standards.
- Ensure all laboratory procedures comply with ISO 9001 , ISO/IEC 17025 and customer audit requirements.
- CML Testing Support :
- Assist in CML (Central Material Lab) testing and analysis for validation of material specifications.
- Audit and Compliance Support :
- Participate in internal and external audits (ISO, NABL, customer audits).
- Prepare, maintain and present relevant audit documents.
Qualifications :
- Diploma / B.Sc in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, chemical, chemistry or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in foundry or material testing lab.
- Hands-on experience with spectrometers, sand testing equipment , and mechanical testing tools .

About the job:
This position is responsible for planning and execution, coordinate and monitor production activities throughout the shifts on daily basis to ensure production volume, quality and efficiency is conforming to sales demand and production budget following to EHS and organisations goals and guidelines.
Also providing engineering support for ongoing and new operations in the respective production area. This includes: providing necessary (process and project) engineering support to the relevant department as required for safe, effective and efficient production of products according to ABS rules and (quality) objectives. He serves as backup to the Production Manager in respective area in his/her absence.

About you:
- B.Tech/BE in Ceramics/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering from any government/reputed institute.
- 7-10 years of applicable experience, preferably in midsized similar industries. Proven track record and a minimum of 3 years of experience in production process at plant level.
- Working knowledge of SAP.
