What You’ll Be Doing:

Developing external customer-facing Managed Database products (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Caching, Kafka, OpenSearch, MongoDB, and more).

Developing and maintaining distributed systems.

- Be the DB expert to reach out regarding NoSQL DBs.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in the NoSQL space.
- Manage our Cassandra and Scylla clusters with a focus on capacity management, cost optimization, high availability and performance.
- Work with large database clusters handling 1M+ IOPS in aggregate.
- Create automations to reduce toil.
- Create automations for monitoring and alerting.
- Create runbooks for alert handling.
- Setup backup and restore mechanisms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve various issues with cluster related to nodes, table data, high load, connectivity issues from clients, etc.

**Qualifications Mandatory**:

The Health Services Data Design and Metadata Management team is hiring an Architecture Senior Advisor to work across all projects. We’re looking for an experienced Big Data Engineer who can create innovative new products in the analytics and data space. You will participate in the development that creates the world's #1 mobile app analytics service. As a Big Data Engineer, we will need you to be in charge of model implementation and maintenance, and to build a clean, robust, and maintainable data processing program that can support these projects on huge amounts of data, this includes

**_Position Summary:_**
The primary responsibility of this position is to enable effective data capture and analysis in the R&D space through the development of conceptual and logical data models for initiatives, programs, and cross-R&D capabilities. This role is critical for structured data capture, and upkeep of models even beyond the conclusion of a project. Data modelers will apply and assist in the definition and governance of data modelling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development of any R&D data capability.
**_Main responsibilities:_**
+ Design conceptual and logical data models and data dictionaries/ontologies to cater to R&D business needs and functional requirements; lead validation of physical data models
+ Understand data governance policies, standards and procedures for R&D data
+ Maintain modelling and naming standards, and data harmonization, metadata management, and source-to-target data mapping documentation
+ Evaluate and influence projects while serving as "voice-of-business"; map systems/interfaces for data management, set standards for future state, and close gap from current-to-future state
+ Serve as functional and data consultant for R&D initiatives with major platforms/technology implementations
+ Maintain documentation and act as an expert on data definitions, data standards, data flows, legacy data structures / hierarchies, common data models, data harmonization etc. for R&D functions
+ Educate and guide R&D teams on standards and information management principles, methodologies, best practices, etc.

+ Conduct requirements gathering from business analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders
+ Develop complex and scalable data models aligned to organization's long term strategic goals
