Job Overview

Branch launched in India in early 2019 and has seen rapid adoption and growth. We are expanding our product portfolio as well as our user base in all our markets including India, and are more than ever dependent on reliable products and systems to achieve our goals. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a small group of engineers that are working on a particular facet of our products and infrastructure across the stack. You will be working closely with other stakeholders to help us achieve our goals. You will also work closely with other leaders throughout the company to build the right organizational structures and processes as we continue to grow.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 years of engineering management experience, preferably in either an established technology firm or a fast-growth startup.
• Significant experience as a software engineer, ideally across organizations, industries and technology stacks.
• A record of mentorship and helping others in their career growth.
• Experience and excitement for recruiting, combined with a thoughtful approach to team growth.

Role: Engineering Manager

You will take the role of Engineering Manager. Expectations from the Role holder is to be a tech expert, to lead sprints with capable tech teams with a high people management quotient, and to prioritize tasks. You will manage multiple products/ tools and a team of 10+ members. You will be the owner of product delivery, sprint optimization and architecture development.

Location: Noida (Hybrid) / 5 days

What will you get to do?

• Drive technical design remodeling, and refactoring of layer 1 blockchain, smart contracts and systems for robustness and scalability.
• Partner with cross-functional teams, to create technical vision, detailed roadmap, and drive critical design discussions.
• Lead technology & architectural decisions to drive teams for implementation & code reviews.
• Build engineering processes for the team and champion product thinking.
• Provide technical leadership with a focus on quality & security.
• Robust documentation and knowledge management across the blockchain ecosystem.

Skills & Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or equivalent stream.
• Relevant and progressive 10+ Years of experience, with good projects in Blockchain products
• Hands-on experience in Software Development using ReactJS and Node.js
• Hands-on experience in various databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB
• Strong Knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• Preferred: Designed, developed and deployed large-scale web applications on the cloud.
• Good understanding of Docker/Containerized application development.

• Ensure that the software solution is delivered within the expected timeline with highest quality and following the best software development practices and standards.
• Track the velocity of the team and take responsibility for sprint planning and backlog management in JIRA working closely with the Product Manager.
• Responsible for the maintenance and support of the student management system in production and respecting all the SLAs (service level agreements) as promised with the customers

The key requirements of the role:

• Solid understanding and experience in designing/architecting and building distributed enterprise systems.
• Problem solving skills and working with a Product Manager and UX Designer to provide technical solutions
• Hands-on programming skill in atleast an objected oriented language (Ruby preferred)
• AWS management and understanding and infrastructure as code understanding
• Proficient in working in Scrum (Agile) methodology with experience in sprint planning, backlog refinement, JIRA ticket management and reporting.
• Architectural patterns and principles for working with distributed, highly available and scalable systems
• Strong object-oriented design principles and good understanding around distributed systems and modern cloud-based SaaS architecture.
• Experience managing stakeholders.
• Experience leading, supporting, and growing senior engineers.
• At least 5+ years of experience in end-to-end software development including deployment to AWS and maintaining the product.

Your new role

This is your opportunity to play a key role in one of Australia's most dynamic renewable energy growth areas. Ausgrid together with PLUS ES (part of the Ausgrid Group) is looking for an Operations and Maintenance Engineer or Engineering Officer to join the team.

Specifically focused on Infrastructure Services, this role is essential to the continued success of PLUS ES’s EVCI, BOM Fibre and Electrical (Embedded/SAPs etc) Network management. You will play a key role in the ongoing support, maintenance, and operational readiness of these assets for PLUS ES & our Operation & Maintenance customers. This role will be pivotal in shaping and implementing long-term asset management strategies, maintenance practices, and engineering support for a growing fleet of EVCI, underground & overheard fibre assets, and electrical infrastructure, while mentoring field teams and supporting external commercial clients.

As the Operations and Maintenance Engineer/Engineering Officer – Infrastructure Services, you will work closely with the relevant Portfolio Manager’s to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient ongoing operation of infrastructure assets. You will take the lead on technical field support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of maintenance procedures and systems.
