The (Senior) Finance Manager is a critical member of India Leadership team and a business partner to the India/SEA/ANZ Managing Director and Rail India management team driving profitable growth and expansion strategies. This position is accountable for the ongoing development and implementation of the financial strategic direction for Rail India ensuring alignment with the expectations of stakeholders and financial goals of Harsco Rail.
**Principle duties and responsibilities (essential functions)**
**Financial & Accounting**
+ Leads the preparation of financial cycles such as yearly plan, quarterly forecasts, weekly business and free cash flows outlook updates, long range plan, and critical guiding measurables that will enable Rail India business to achieve its business objectives; monitoring financial and business performance throughout the year.
+ Works closely with the Country leadership team to present and gain approval of plans and quarterly forecasts. Closely monitors execution of operational plans against India Annual Plan - and any other relevant business goals and objectives - with focus on Margin, Operating Income, Working Capital and Cash Flows.
+ Regularly reports business progress vs. financial metrics and updates the management team on key initiatives specific to Rail India.
+ Provides forward looking planning and analysis/reporting to aid in improved forecasting and enhanced management decision making.
+ Oversees Rail India financial operations/global finance shared services team to ensure a wide range of accounting policies and practices are being adhered and deployed to effectively and efficiently manage company assets and operations.
+ Work closely with GSC team to monitor the process and ensure the quality and assurance of the service
+ Works closely with the global treasury team in addressing the cash flows/bank facility needs of Rail India
+ Ensures complete cooperation with all government regulators, auditors, and other agencies that periodically assess India operations and ensure full compliance.
**Commercial**
+ Establishes, builds, and leverages value added commercial relationships with those key external customers, suppliers and partners. Coordinates with key finance leaders representing customers, suppliers, financial institutions, and/or other executives and resources to ensure that appropriate market intelligence is acquired and "factored-in" to India business decisions.
**Strategic**
+ Lead executive on all matters involving financial decisions, performance monitoring and financial planning. Provides financial and balanced business perspective/wisdom to the successful development and implementation of operational plans that deliver business results aligned with agreed upon goals.
**People**
+ Shares responsibility for creating an environment that values, encourages, and enables the development and maintenance of an effective, well-motivated management team. **Legal Compliance**

+ Safeguards all company assets - physical and intellectual. Works closely with the legal team to monitor and implement policies which will enable the management team and direct reports to effectively ensure compliance to Harsco business and legal compliance standards.

+ Business advisory services relating to new business opportunities, capital projects, working capital strategies (inventory, AR, AP), Procurement analysis and approval
+ Manage FX exposure
+ Solid analysis of all cost lines (COGS, SG&A) with appropriate recommendation for costs optimization

+ Support to Bid and Contract Management Team on evaluating new contract opportunities
**Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting**
+ Annual Plan, Quarterly Forecast, Weekly business outlook updates
+ Financial reporting efficiency improvement
+ Manage capital and operating budget
+ Balance sheet and cash flows management
+ Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with IGAAP and US GAAP
**Finance Operations**
+ Accounting process improvement
+ Cash Flows and Working Capital optimization (DSO, DPO and DSI). Coordinate between finance and business teams on cash collection activities.
+ Revenue recognition in compliance with ASC606 requirements
+ Proper inventory management which covers safety stocks implementation, supply chain localization, standard costing valuation, proper monthly closing cut-off, stock takes and excess & obsolescence stocks provision calculation.
+ Works closely with Global Finance Shared Service team to ensure proper and timely record keeping/reporting
**Internal controls**
+ US-GAAP compliance and Financial controls including SOX and audit reviews
+ Governance responsibilities (i.e. officer, director) of Rail India
+ Liaison to Corporate shared services (e.g. GSC, Internal Audit, Tax, Treasury, and Risk Management Departments)
+ Statutory Compliance - Legislation pertaining to Income Tax, GST, Commercial Tax and other such taxes and laws
+ Strengthen internal compliance processes and provide solutions in this regard if and as needed in collaboration/coordination with the business teams.

+ Up-to-date customer, site and service profitability analysis
+ Internal Controls - to address all identified internal controls weaknesses with appropriate management action plan/solution and show improvements to prior year's internal control rating given by Internal Audit team.

+ Cash Flows - ensure healthy operating cash flows through effective and efficient working capital management and exercise influence over commercial terms and condition with customers and suppliers.
