Job Overview


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounts Payable professional to join our finance team as a Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounts payable, comprehensive knowledge of financial accounting, and a strong understanding of various compliance areas. This role is crucial for ensuring the company's financial records are accurate and that all statutory compliance requirements are met.


Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Books Closure

  • Manage the end-to-end accounts payable function, including vendor invoice processing, expense claims, and timely payments for India & overseas entities.
  • Oversee daily accounting entries and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
  • Lead the monthly and yearly books closure process, ensuring all reconciliations and finalization activities are completed accurately and on time.

2. Compliance Management

  • Ensure strict adherence to all statutory regulations, including GST, TDS, and Income Tax .
  • Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual returns for GST and TDS.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of statutory audits, Income Tax filings, and Transfer Pricing documentation.

3. MIS Reporting

  • Develop and maintain robust Management Information System (MIS) reporting processes.
  • Prepare and present periodic MIS reports to senior management, providing actionable insights into financial performance and compliance status.

4. Documentation and Record Keeping

  • Maintain comprehensive and organized documentation for all financial transactions, payments, and compliance-related activities.
  • Ensure the proper and secure record-keeping of all financial and statutory documents in both physical and digital formats.


Qualifications

  • Education: B.Com, M.Com, or IPCC attempted (CA dropout).
  • Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience in accounts payable, books closure, and statutory compliance (GST, TDS, Income Tax).


Skills:

  • Proficiency in accounting software like Tally.
  • Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS, and Income Tax laws.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Communication:
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

**Role & Responsibilities Summary**
WSP India is currently seeking **Consultant -** **Project Finance Specialist** for our GCC Australia Mining - Central Sustaining Capital. This position will be a support to the project managers & responsible for project Finance.
A Team player and willing to work collaboratively with a motivated and highly successful team in
Australia **. The position will be for Bangalore location.**
+ Deliver high-quality capital analysis services for GCC AU mining infrastructure projects by leveraging financial analysis tools to produce value‑added reports for stakeholders.
+ Build relationships with Project managers through close engagement and consultation
+ Understand and where required document client-specific invoicing and project finance requirements.
+ Provide comprehensive project financial analysis and prepare administrative support documentation to ensure timely and cost‑effective project delivery.
+ Track, analyze, and reconcile actuals, forecasts, and committed costs for mining projects.
+ Initiate and oversee financial transaction like client invoicing, purchase requisitions (PRs) and monitor purchase orders (POs) through their complete lifecycle.
+ Ensure compliance with established project management frameworks and organizational financial policies.
+ Support both internal and external audits by maintaining complete, accurate, and compliant financial documentation and records.
+ Take ownership of accurate project finance setups, invoicing and updates, including quality control for work completed by Finance BP and GBS as required.
+ Serve as a key liaison between Project, Operations, Finance, and PMO teams to drive alignment, collaboration, and transparency.
+ Provide financial process guidance and governance expertise to project managers and workstream leads.
+ Operate and maintain project control tools (e.g., Oracle, Excel) to monitor and manage financial data effectively.
+ Oversee and manage complex project budgets across multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment with overarching financial objectives.
+ Drive enhancements to financial tracking templates and reporting processes for improved efficiency and accuracy. Ensure prompt and accurate invoice processing in line with internal departmental standards. Proactively manage multiple workstreams and collaborate with cross‑functional teams, ensuring financial guidance, compliance, and acting as the primary contact for all finance‑related project queries.
+ Contribute to monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including variance analysis, accruals, and identification of financial risks.
+ Partner with project and finance teams to deliver accurate, compliant, and timely financial operations.
**Key Competencies/Skills**
+ Experience with MS office softwares is a must.
**Mandatory Skills**
+ Master's or bachelor's degree in finance or business administration.
+ 6-12 years' experience in project controlling, preferably within infrastructure or industrial EPC projects (O&G, Power, Mining, etc.).
+ Proficient in using financial tools and ERP systems related to finance.
+ Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements and International Financial Reporting Standards.
+ Excellent organizational and reporting abilities.
+ Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and effective interpersonal skills.
**Desired Skills**
+ 6-12 years Valuable experience in project finance is considered as asset
+ Must be time flexible and able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
+ Attention to detail is critical
+ Familiarity with other analytics tools such as Power Point, Excel, Power BI & equivalent dashboards.
+ Previous experience in an EPCM environment in the O & G, Power, Chemical process, Mat. Handling/Mining processing industry would be an asset.
+ **Must be Flexible to attend meetings outside office hours or early in the morning to align with Australian time.**
**Qualifications**
+ Must have minimum 6-12 years of experience post-graduation, preferably relating to a large-scale professional services work environment.
+ Master's/bachelor's degree in finance or business administration or diploma or certificate in finance or other applicable area would be an asset.
+ Work experience on AU/NZ projects would be advantageous.

Finance Specialist

Focus on Revenue Accounting including the month-end close process, reconciliations and related reporting

Participating in all aspects of the revenue month-end close process, including creating journal entries, performing reconciliations and SEC disclosures & reporting

Check for compliance and proper revenue recognition in accordance with in ASC606 and any related guidance

Perform preliminary contract analysis review and prepare related revenue schedules

Maintain documentation for all audit and compliance work

Research revenue accounting guidance as needed and prepare accounting memos and contract summaries to document appropriate accounting treatment

Co-ordination with Revenue Manager on Judgmental deals and missing information.

To apply, you need to have:

Sound Knowledge of revenue recognition ASC 606 (IFRS 15/ Ind AS 115)

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Power point.

Strong oral and written communication skills

Qualified CA/ CMA/ACCA/CPA in Commerce & Accounting

2-4 years of relevant experience
