Job Description – Civil Works & Service Procurement Lead
Position Overview
The Civil Works & Service Procurement Lead is responsible for managing the sourcing, negotiation, and contracting of Civil Works & Services to support the organization’s operational and strategic needs for its Renewable Energy Projects (Solar, Wind, BESS) across India. New Vendor Development will be the prime responsibility for this role. The role ensures timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality, compliance, and strong vendor relationships. The lead will be responsible for managing a team of Buyers & Associate Leads for his segment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for Civil Works and Service-related requirements in alignment with company objectives.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service levels.
2. Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard good quality Civil Works and Service Providers as per business needs. New Vendor Development will be the prime responsibility for this role.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure reliability, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular vendor performance evaluations and address non-performance issues.
3. Sourcing & Contract Management
- Lead end-to-end sourcing processes including RFQ/RFP preparation, bid evaluation, and vendor selection.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and service-level agreements (SLAs) to achieve the best value.
- Draft, review, and manage service contracts ensuring compliance with legal and company policies.
4. Cost & Quality Control
- Monitor service delivery to ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Track and control procurement budgets for services.
- Identify process improvement areas to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
5. Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and vendor data.
- Prepare periodic procurement reports for management review.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 14–18 years of experience in procurement, with at least 8–10 years in Civil Works & Services procurement.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing, contract management, and vendor management practices.
- Experience in negotiating large-scale service contracts.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.
Skills & Competencies

- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
