This position manages the IT Project Management Office (PMO) at Velocity FincrimeSolutions Suite. The PMO Manager is responsible for overseeing the IT Project Portfolio Governance, enforcing project management frameworks, and ensuring successful execution of all IT projects.
In addition to owning the PMO program and driving continuous improvements, this role plays a hands-on project management role for critical IT initiatives and leads a team of project managers and coordinators.

- Create and maintain staffing plans for internal and external resources; make recommendations regarding long-term contractors or full-time additions.
- Analyse project proposals to determine timelines, funding, and required processes.
- Provide leadership and motivation to project teams through all project phases.
- Implement effective project communication, including steering committee meetings and status reports.
- Manage project risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure alignment of project goals with business objectives and manage delivery on time and within budget.
- Employ agile/scrum methodologies while operating within the organization’s SDLC framework.
- Facilitate self-organizing agile teams, enabling optimal task distribution and execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
- Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in project management of complex IT projects.
- Deep understanding of agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Disciplined Agile, etc.).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Background in Business Analysis.
- Proven experience managing an IT Portfolio or PMO.
- Prior team leadership/supervisory experience.
- Experience managing external vendors and contract staff.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to set and meet goals, define schedules, allocate resources, and implement processes.
- Strong ability to navigate ambiguity and bring clarity to teams.
- Experience in software product development life cycles is mandatory.
