**Overview of The Department**
Commercial Rating and Underwriting (CRU) sits within the Credit and Fraud Risk (CFR) division and forms the institutional credit risk management function within American Express. The CRU team plays the critical role of assessing and managing the risk of institutional exposures across all business units within American Express, and in all regions globally. Credit exposures are primarily generated through corporate and small business card programs, via merchant service relationships where non-delivery risk exists, and among the securities portfolio held for firm-wide liquidity. CRU is led from Salt Lake City with regional teams in New York, London, Singapore and India.
In addition to determining the internal credit rating which drives the probability of default of each exposure, CRU also calculates the loss given default of these obligors while underwriting card programs. As a bank holding company, American Express must comply with the highest global banking standards set by Basel and implemented by the bank's primarily regulatory, the Federal Reserve.
**Responsibilities**
Analystwill be based out of India, and responsible underwriting credit exposures predominantly for the English speaking markets. Fundamental analysis incorporates a thorough review of business, financial, industry and country risks coupled with support from internal and external rating model outputs. Assessment includes understanding of the need for credit extension, profitability of the relationship and program structures.
Analysts will have opportunity to interact with various teams across the firm including front office sales, business unit risk partners, and credit administration to perform their critical role.

+ Develop solid understanding of Home Lending policies, procedures, regulations, and compliance requirements for Wealth Investment Management client mortgages as needed
+ Collaborate and consult with Wealth Underwriting peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals; serve as a mentor for lower level staff
+ Provide input to assist leaders with credit risk management decisions to ensure satisfactory credit portfolio risk examinations

**About this role:**
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst
**In this role, you will:**
+ Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives related to financial research, analysis, and reporting
+ Review and analyze moderately complex financial data while providing a broad expertise and unique skills used to develop key metrics reporting, including but not limited to budgeting analysis, forecasting analysis, variance analysis, variance commentary, reporting, reviews, and presentation
+ Contribute to large scale planning such as economic research in support of management decision making
+ Research key financial metric forecasting projections as well as management of financial reporting to support forecasting and budgeting processes
+ Develop strategies and make recommendations for forward financial planning as well as enhancing financial reporting
+ Lead projects to meet the implementation of moderately complex projects impacting one or more lines of business and exercise independent judgment while leveraging a solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
+ Establish effective and efficient reporting delivery that meets brand standard and internal control standards

**Required Qualifications:**

+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, Pivot Tables, Power Query, dashboards, and advanced formulas.
+ Experience with **Hyperion Essbase** for financial planning and reporting processes.
+ Experience developing dashboards and visualizations using **Power BI** .
+ Working knowledge of **Microsoft Copilot** and AI-enabled productivity tools to enhance financial analysis and reporting.
+ Strong stakeholder management and business partnering experience.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information to senior leaders.
+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

+ Manage FP&A activities supporting Business and Technology Finance.
+ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts, budgets, and financial performance analyses.
