POSITION PURPOSE

The role is expected to ensure seamless functioning of plant operations while ensuring process efficiency, meeting production targets and overall unit health in order to develop short and long term strategies within organizational guidelines and statutory requirements.

B.Tech (Mechanical/Electrical)

Experience

17-20 years of experience across manufacturing operations in similar industry

Desired Skills and Exposures

  • Candidate having an experience into manufacturing of Transmission & Distribution Line Hardware’s or Steel fabrication for Electrical Transmission/Distribution/Sub Station Network.
  • Has an understanding of steel forging / Aluminium casting
  • Has worked in a SAP S4 Hana environment
  • Has a fair understanding of how to handle a plant with multiple production lines and a large discrete manufacturing setup.



AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY


1 Planning and budgeting

  • Create annual budget for all departments under the operations units function
  • Participate in the strategy development to design initiatives, short and long term plans, business objectives and operational goals as part of the company's leadership team
  • Actuals v/s Planned budget

2 Manufacturing operations

  • Oversee activities related to manufacturing operations of the plant; measure and track activities of the plant against the schedule on a daily/monthly/quarterly/annual basis
  • Identify areas for cost improvement across the plant on a regular basis
  • Aim at minimizing material waste, optimizing production processes to reduce defects, and maximizing product yield.
  • Adherence to customer plan

3 Reporting

  • a. Oversee activities related to preparation of production plan and ensure compliance to the same
  • Drive activities related to budget preparation for the plant and ensure adherence to the budget
  • Review plant operations (production, maintenance etc.) on a periodic basis to track budget v/s actual adherance and lags/ issues if any
  • Adherence to timelines and budget

4 Compliance

  • Design processes and systems to ensure compliance to various act
  • Administer processes and raise concerns wherever necessary
  • Develop methods for waste management as per the environmental guidelines
  • Zero deviance to compliance

5 Safety and quality

  • Lead initiatives to ensure alignment of production with the quality standards
  • Lead activities related to safety on shop floor
  • Promote Kaizen initiatives to ensure continuous improvement
