- Assembly Line Setup and Optimization Lead the setup, installation, and commissioning of the lithium batterypack assembly line, ensuring adherence to design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Process Development Develop manufacturing processes and procedures for battery pack assembly, includingcell handling, module assembly, pack assembly, and testing. Optimize workflows to maximize efficiency,productivity, and yield.
- Equipment Selection and Integration Collaborate with equipment vendors and internal stakeholders to select,procure, and integrate specialized machinery, tools, and automation systems for the assembly line. Ensureseamless integration and functionality of equipment to meet production goals.
- Quality Assurance Implement quality control measures and validation protocols to ensure the reliability,performance, and safety of battery packs. Conduct thorough testing and inspection of components and assembliesto meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
- Continuous Improvement Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes,reduce cycle times, minimize waste, and increase throughput. Utilize lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigmamethodologies, and data analytics to identify and address opportunities for optimization.
- Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design engineering,procurement, operations, and quality assurance, to coordinate activities and resolve technical challenges.Collaborate on design reviews, DFMEA, PFMEA, and DFM activities to optimize product manufacturability andreliability.
- Training and Development Provide training and technical support to production teams on new processes,equipment, and procedures. Ensure proper documentation and knowledge transfer to enable smooth transition tofull-scale production.
- Project Management Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure timely completionof milestones and deliverables. Communicate progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders and proactively addressany roadblocks.

**Job Description**
We are seeking an experienced and self-driven **manufacturing leader to be second in command** of our large manufacturing facility in Hosur. The position will be responsible, for overseeing the full manufacturing scope of the site, including manufacturing, for working closely with supply chain team for material availability and cross-functional leadership for achieving key deliverables. This includes ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, financial performance, quality, and employee safety across the facility.
The ideal candidate will possess strong operational expertise, financial acumen, and a proven track record in leading large, diverse teams through both routine operations and crisis situations. The **position will** oversee a site with an annual revenue of $200M+ and manage multiple product lines and a workforce of 400+ people, both WABTEC employees and outsourced manpower. Responsible for meeting sales and operational deliverables.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ **Site Operations:** Provide strategic & tactical leadership to the site, ensuring that all operations, from manufacturing and support functions, are running smoothly. Will work closely with a cross-functional team like Quality, EHS (Environmental Health and Safety), Materials, Fulfilment, Process Engineering , Admin, and Maintenance.
+ **Financial & Operational Performance:** Drive efficiency improvements and cost reduction initiatives, ensuring that the site meets or exceeds its financial and operational targets.

**Qualifications / Requirements:**

+ 15+ years of experience in a medium or heavy engineering environment, with at least 5+ years in a capacity of manufacturing head.
