Department: Network Operations Center (NOC)

Job Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-orientedNOC Engineer to join our Network Operations team. This role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Wireless Optical Communication (WOC) links and associated network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking, RF or optical communication technologies, and network monitoring tools.
Key Responsibilities:
· Monitor WOC link performance and network health using NOC tools and dashboards.
· Respond to and resolve WOC link degradation, failures, and service interruptions.
· Perform first-line diagnostics and escalate issues to appropriate engineering teams when required.
· Conduct routine maintenance, firmware upgrades, and configuration changes on FSOC terminals.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of WOC hardware, alignment techniques, and atmospheric effect mitigation.
· Track trouble tickets, incident reports, and resolution steps using ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
· Collaborate with field engineers to guide physical troubleshooting and alignment of WOC units.
· Analyze link budget, signal quality, and throughput data for performance optimization.
· Provide detailed shift handovers and maintain accurate documentation of all operational procedures.
Participate in a rotating shift schedule (24x7 support model including nights, weekends, and holidays).
Required Qualifications:
· Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
· 2+ years experience in a NOC or telecommunications operations role.
· Understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, switching).
· Familiarity with optical communication systems, preferably WOC or laser communications.
· Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, Grafana).
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Work Environment:
· 24x7 NOC environment; shift work required.
· May involve occasional travel to field locations for WOC support.

+ **Networking Stack Expertise:** Provide technical guidance and leadership in the development and maintenance of the networking stack. This includes **Layer 2 (L2), Layer 3 (L3) protocols** (such as **OSPF** and **BGP** ), **MPLS** , **VXLAN** , **QoS** , and **ACLs** .
+ **Management & Control Plane:** Drive the development of management interfaces using protocols such as **SNMP** , **NETCONF/YANG** , **REST** , **CLI** , **gNMI** , and **gRPC** .
+ **ASIC/NPU Integration:** Guide the team in developing software for **Broadcom's XGS/DNX** and **Marvell's Innovium/Prestera** family of devices.
+ **Release Management:** Oversee the entire release process, from planning to deployment, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of software.
+ **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Act as a key liaison between your team, other functional teams, vendors, and customer-facing organizations.
**Knowledge/Skills/Competencies**
+ **Experience:** Proven experience in a managerial role within a networking software or NOS development environment is an added advantage. However Engineers keen to move from Tech lead to Manager can also be considered.
+ **Technical Acumen:**
