Job Summary

As a Performance Analysis engineer, you will work as part of a team responsible for modeling, measurement, and analysis of storage systems performance. The overall focus of the Research and Development function, of which this role is a part, is on competitive market and customer requirements, technology advances, product quality, product cost and time to market.

Performance engineers focus on performance analysis and improvement for new products and features as well as enhancements to existing products and features. This position requires an individual to be broad-thinking and systems-focused, creative, team-oriented, technologically savvy, and driven to produce results.

Job Requirements

• Knowledge of performance analysis and modeling techniques, tools and benchmarking.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in computer operating systems, hardware architecture and design, data structures and standard programming practices; systems programming in C is highly desirable.
• Strong scripting skills in Perl and Python - primarily with Jupyter Notebooks and Shell.
• Exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Strong influencing and leadership skills.
• The ability to make accurate work estimates and develop predictable plans.
• Knowledge of storage and file systems.

Responsibilities

• Measure and analyze product performance to identify performance improvement opportunities.
• Design, implement, execute, analyze, interpret, socialize and apply storage-oriented performance workloads and their results, including the creation of tools and automation as necessary.
• Work closely with development teams to drive the performance improvement agenda.
• Evaluate design alternatives for enhanced performance and prototype opportunities for performance enhancements.
• Create analytical and simulation-based models to predict storage systems performance.
• Successfully convey information to stakeholders at many levels related to the position.
• Participate as a proactive contributor and subject matter expert on team projects.

Education

• 4 to 7 years of experience is preferred.
• A Bachelor of Science, Master’s of Science, or PhD Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science; or equivalent experience is required.

What you'll be doing:

• System level performance analysis/ bottleneck analysis of complex, high performance GPUs and System-on-Chips (SoCs).

• Work on hardware models of different levels of abstraction, including performance models, RTL test benches ,emulators and silicon to analyze performance and find performance bottlenecks in the system.

• Understand key performance use-cases of the product. Develop  workloads and test suits targeting graphics, machine learning, automotive, video, compute vision applications running on these products.

• Work closely with the architecture and design teams to explore architecture trade-offs related to system performance, area, and power consumption.

• Develop required infrastructure including performance models, testbench components, performance analysis and visualization tools.

• Drive methodologies for improving turnaround time, finding representative data-sets and enabling performance analysis early in the product development cycle.

What we need to see:

• BE/BTech, or MS/MTech in relevant area, PhD is a plus, or equivalent experience.

• 3+ years of experience with exposure to performance analysis and complex system on chip and/or GPU architectures.

• Strong understanding of System-on-Chip (SoC) architecture, graphics pipeline, memory subsystem architecture and Network-on-Chip (NoC)/Interconnect architecture.

• Expert hands on competence in programming (C/C++) and scripting (Perl/Python). Exposure to Verilog/System Verilog, SystemC/TLM is a strong plus.

• Strong debugging and analysis (including data and statistical analysis) skills, including use for RTL dumps to debug failures.

• Hands on experience developing performance simulators, cycle accurate/approximate models for pre-silicon performance analysis is a strong plus.

The essence of the Systems Specialist Reporting and Analysis role is to provide a clearlydefined communication channel between Client safety systems stakeholders/users worldwide, Regulatory Authorities, Safety teams, and IT vendors and suppliers in three key areas systems delivery, systems validation and systems support.

Collaboration for safety systems users in this role with be focused on Asia Pac stakeholders.
This position ensures that the design, implementation, maintenance and support of PV systems enable Client to efficiently, timely, accurately, and consistently report and analyze data from all relevant data sources to support the full range of PV activities, ensuring effective monitoring of the safety of our marketed products and investigational compounds.

SQL/PowerBI Report Development: Develop and implement SQL/PowerBI custom reports for end users, provide complex query and reporting support for end users, write complex SQL queries to extract data and performing data analyses for end users and support the overall reporting environment configuration/safety database and DataMart.
Data Analysis: Extracting, inspecting, cleaning, transforming and modelling raw data with the goal of highlighting useful information, suggesting conclusions and supporting decision making.

Education Requirements (minimum expected):

Bachelor/Master degree in an information management, SQL development experience, business analytics, data query/reporting environments or related field with minimum of 4-9 year s experience in the pharmaceutical industry in clinical development, pharmacovigilance and information management or equivalent work experience.

Job Related Experience (minimum requirements):

Good understanding and experience with SQL/PL-SQL development/query language tools
Experience working in Power BI or other data modeling and reporting tools.
Working knowledge of Data Virtualization tools (Denodo)
Knowledge of data caching and implementing connections to multiple sources through data virtualization tools
Experienced in scheduling management in PowerBI.
Good at developing and extracting reports from DataMart using Cognos or PowerBI, Examples are like list reports, cross tab reports, drill through reports, etc.

Experienced in development of reports (using native SQL and Cognos studio or PowerBI) based on end user requirements.
