We are now looking for a proactive and energetic Quality Manager to work with KONE Elevators Control System, Services and Escalator tribe located in Chennai, India.

In your role you will be presenting global Quality & Safety in your Tribe leadership team. You will also represent end-to-end quality in Tribe steering’s that grant milestones to new products and to changes regarding existing products. You will report to Head of Safety & Quality, KTI & Engineering Excellence. You will be working closely with other Tribe Quality Managers. You will have colleagues in Finland, Italy, India, China and America. 

To be successful in this role, you need to have background from mechanical or electrical engineering. Proactivity and cross functional collaboration skills are the key to success in this role; it is essential to have good soft skills to be able to influence the work of versatile teams and conflicting priorities. Practical hands-on experience on how to support teams is needed to build quality into daily work. Experience in lean & agile development is a plus. 

Responsibilities and Key Activities:

  • Promote a proactive quality culture and represent the voice of the customer. 
  • Driving the execution of Quality OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) in Control System, Services and Escalators
  • Ensure alignment with KONE and customer quality requirements 
  • Analyze customer and field feedback to identify and drive improvement initiatives 
  • Lead quality improvement projects across functions (engineering, production, sourcing, etc.).
  • Monitor and support corrective and preventive actions; drive reduction of quality-related costs.
  • Oversee quality reporting (e.g., RUSH) and audits to ensure compliance and improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS). 
  •  Support and participate in Continuous Improvement Teams locally and globally.
  • Promote quality competence development through training and coaching.
  • Requirements for the Role:

  • M.E or B.E. degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
  • Previous experience in quality management in a technical or industrial environment.
  • Solid knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and quality assurance across the full lifecycle. 
  • Hands-on experience in problem-solving tools and quality improvement methodologies.
  • Dynamic, open-minded personality with a proactive approach to improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; a trusted partner across functions
  •  Fluent English required.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and LSS Green or Black Belt

    Role Definition

    This is a leadership role that will work directly with department heads within Thiruvallur Operations team and RFT Product groups (Rigid Frame Trucks: 770-793, LMT-PC, OHT, Bodies & Buckets), and will collaborate between various parts of the enterprise.

    Role will report directly to LMT-PC (785-793) PVSM, with dotted-line to OHT (770-777) PVSM & Thiruvallur Facility Mgr.

    Analyzes customer requirements, defines specifications for products and services, and develops quality control processes to review and ensure compliance with quality standards.

    Responsibilities

  • Ensure RFT products built in Thiruvallur achieve world-class quality levels quickly, and facilitate a culture of Continuous Improvement. Initial focus on Zero Months in Service (0 MIS) Defects per Unit (DPU) & 2 MIS , with an expanding focus on 12-36 MIS DPU.
  • Facilitate partnership and replication, increase collaboration between all facets of the organization. Most closely between Operations (Thiruvallur, Decatur and others) and the RFT Product organizations (LMT-PC & OHT – Design, Product Support and Value Chain), but also with the broader organization - including but not limited to: Suppliers, Purchasing organizations, Regional Marketing teams, Wheeled Product Engineering, LPSD-Drivetrain & Engines, Mining Center of Excellence, and PSLD.
  • Focus with priority on protecting the customer, ensuring the flow of defects is stopped (BIQ Stop Capability), and working to resolve issues (RCCA) with a focus on 1) designing out the possibility of defects, 2) ensuring processes eliminate the possibility of defects, and 3) ensuring controls are in place to check and ensure defects are found.
  • Collaborate through all teams and initiatives that impact product quality. Work with leaders at various levels of the organization to ensure teams are growing in their ability to collaborate and reduce defects through the extended value chain (Design > Suppliers > Manufacturing > Transportation > Field Assembly > Aftermarket)
  • Work with Product Support teams, including travel to better understand defects experienced in the field, and ensure understanding through the value chain to causal areas.
  • Direct responsibility will include Pre-Delivery Audit (PDA) for CIPL-built products, but primary influence will be from indirect responsibilities, networking with other teams and ensuring replication across the broader organization.

    Hi,


    We are hiring for our client Sr. Quality manager for Hosur Location.


    Job Description:


    Lead the Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions for the plant.


    Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.


    Monitor and implement APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA processes.


    1.Handle customer complaints, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective & preventive actions (8D, 5 Why, etc.).

    2.Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection of components and assemblies.

    3.Liaise with OEMs and Tier-1 customers for audits, approvals, and quality reporting.

    4.Work closely with the Production, Maintenance, and R&D teams to improve product quality and reduce rework/rejection.

    5.Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) and conduct regular internal audits.

    6.Guide and train the quality team to uphold best practices in leaf spring manufacturing.


    Criteria:


    1.Proven experience in leaf spring or suspension component manufacturing.

    2.Sound knowledge of forging, heat treatment, surface coating, and inspection methods.

    3.Well-versed in measurement instruments, SPC tools, and quality documentation.

    4.Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.

    5.Experience in handling audits and worked as MR (internal/external/customer/supplier)
