The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control (QC) Manager to oversee the end-to-end review of our animated educational video collections across disciplines such as business, mathematics, physical sciences, and life sciences. As QC Manager, you will manage the quality review of video collections and will coordinate closely with the content development and production teams to ensure accuracy, clarity, and on-time delivery. You will also hire, guide, and manage freelance subject matter expert (SME) reviewers to maintain the highest standards of quality and academic rigor.

Responsibilities

• Review animated educational concept videos for academic accuracy, conceptual clarity, animation–script alignment, and pedagogical value.
• Understand and comment meaningfully on a variety of 2D visual representations, such as animated characters, abstract icons, graphs, and metaphoric visuals.
• Ensure all videos meet JoVE’s standards for scientific/academic quality, accessibility, and instructional coherence.
• Collaborate with both the content and production teams to resolve feedback and maintain quality through iterations.
• Track progress across multiple active video collections simultaneously in the Google ecosystem (Google Sheets and Docs), managing timelines, assignments, review status, and QC progress.
• Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of freelance SME reviewers, ensuring consistent standards and turnaround times.

Requirements:

• A Master’s or Ph.D in STEM, business, or education.
• 3–6 years of experience in academic content QC or educational video production.
• Proven ability to manage multiple short-term projects in parallel using Excel or other tracking tools.
• Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to spot both content errors and production glitches.
• Excellent communication skills—must be able to give constructive feedback clearly.
• Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.)
• Familiarity with 2D animation formats and ability to give feedback on visual storytelling and pacing.
• Experience working with cross-functional creative teams, managing timelines and content revisions.
• Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.

• Proven experience with quality management systems (QMS) and tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA, HACCP).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and statistical quality control methods.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements relevant to the manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.

ROLE SUMMARY:

Quality Manager will be responsible for the Site QA/QC program and will play an active leadership role in highly engineered manufacturing environment. Quality Manager will also lead or support multiple of initiatives including, but not limited to, CI initiatives related to Quality KPIs, QMS improvements, supplier quality management processes and internal audit. This individual must have a strong background in quality management and proven track record of leadership in the quality function within large industrial manufacturing organizations. Need to be able to work with associates at all levels of the organization (specially on the factory shop and office floors).

In your role you will be presenting global Quality & Safety in your Tribe leadership team. You will also represent end-to-end quality in Tribe steering's that grant milestones to new products and to changes regarding existing products. You will report to Head of Safety & Quality, KTI & Engineering Excellence. You will be working closely with other Tribe Quality Managers. You will have colleagues in Finland, Italy, India, China and America.

To be successful in this role, you need to have background from mechanical or electrical engineering. Proactivity and cross functional collaboration skills are the key to success in this role it is essential to have good soft skills to be able to influence the work of versatile teams and conflicting priorities. Practical hands-on experience on how to support teams is needed to build quality into daily work. Experience in lean & agile development is a plus.

Responsibilities and Key Activities:

• Promote a proactive quality culture and represent the voice of the customer.
• Driving the execution of Quality OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) in Control System, Services and Escalators
• Ensure alignment with KONE and customer quality requirements
• Analyze customer and field feedback to identify and drive improvement initiatives
• Lead quality improvement projects across functions (engineering, production, sourcing, etc.).
• Monitor and support corrective and preventive actions drive reduction of quality-related costs.
• Oversee quality reporting (e.g., RUSH) and audits to ensure compliance and improvement.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Support and participate in Continuous Improvement Teams locally and globally.
• Promote quality competence development through training and coaching.

Requirements for the Role:

• M.E or B.E. degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• Previous experience in quality management in a technical or industrial environment.
• Solid knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and quality assurance across the full lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience in problem-solving tools and quality improvement methodologies.
• Dynamic, open-minded personality with a proactive approach to improvement.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills a trusted partner across functions
• Fluent English required.
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and LSS Green or Black Belt
• Readiness to travel when required.
