Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive outreach strategies to connect with target communities and individuals.
- Organize and facilitate community events, workshops, and information sessions to raise awareness about available services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Identify the needs of community members and provide information and referrals to appropriate social services, healthcare, education, and employment resources.
- Conduct needs assessments and gather feedback from community members to inform program development and improvement.
- Develop and distribute outreach materials, including brochures, flyers, and online content.
- Manage the community outreach calendar and coordinate logistical aspects of events and activities.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, client interactions, and referrals.
- Represent the organization at community meetings, forums, and public events.
- Advocate for the needs of community members within relevant systems and institutions.
- Train and supervise volunteers involved in outreach activities.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of outreach programs and make recommendations for adjustments.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and follow-up for referred individuals.
- Stay informed about current social issues, policies, and available resources within the community.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Public Health, Community Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in community outreach, social services, or a related field.
- Proven ability to engage effectively with diverse populations, including vulnerable and underserved groups.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with database management.
- Knowledge of local social service networks and resources in Chennai and surrounding areas.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for social justice and commitment to serving the community.
- Experience in event planning and coordination.
- Fluency in Tamil and English is required.
