Consultant: Business Continuity- Disaster Recovery Management

Extensive expertise in the following areas:

• Good knowledge of Business Continuity Management and Disaster Recovery .
• Experience in performing Business Impact Assessment, Risk Assessment and developing DR Strategies
• Knowledge on ISO 22301 business continuity standards and implemented BCM
• Experience in managing DR Testing life cycle including data center, application and infrastructure , DR coordinator
• Experience in documenting of Business continuity and disaster recovery plans

Skills

• Business Continuity and Disaster recovery experience
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
• Client management experience
• Conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Infrastructure knowledge w.r.t. windows, Linux, Oracle, SQL and exposure to Cloud technology w.r.t ASR (Azure Site recovery), SRM (Site recovery manager), Azure VMware solution and VMware cloud foundation.

IT Risk Management

• Plan suitable precautionary measures and coordination with service managers
• Track DR related risks and support mitigation measures

Continuity Plan

• Create and maintain necessary disaster recovery documentation (incl. data center recovery plans (runbooks), service recovery action plans (runbooks) and technical documentation.
• Check IT systems support defined DR RPOs (Recovery Point Objective)/RTOs (Recovery Time Objective) and highlight discrepancies
• Initiate an alarm process and coordination for responding to IT emergencies and catastrophes and support the IT emergency management team.
• Support the Client defined DR/contingency program and plan for emergency tests
• Review of Recovery Action Plan for Applications and Services

Continuity Awareness

• Carry out regular inspections, reviews and tests designed to ensure the achievability of the specified service levels (RTO, RPO).
• Ensuring, that detected problems/gaps in der DR capability, e.g. after emergency tests, will be eliminated/tracked and improvements will be implemented
• Organize periodic informational and training measures for IT employees (Wipro teams only) for the sake of maintaining their capacity to perform the tasks associated with IT continuity / disaster recovery.
• Ensure that each member of a recovery team is informed about the current disaster recovery documentation and its content and able to act in a real DR scenario.
• Conduct periodic training to Wipro support staff for disaster recovery
• Reporting (emergency test reports, test coverage, status of precautionary measures, planned activities) after DR activities
• Disaster Recovery IT services / systems

DR Reporting to IT Continuity Manager

• Status of recovery activities
• Cause and effects of problems during recovery
• Coordination and performing Disaster Recovery of IT services during emergency tests including business relevant applications
• Ensure that improvements or adjustments to the emergency plans / recovery action plans (runbooks) are implemented after emergency tests
• Check CMDB is up to date in regard to DR mapping and follow up with CI owners if required
• Data center Recovery plans (runbooks)
• All documentation has to be done in a standard format and the provider has to be able to provide the customer with a full set of documentation data / configuration data in usable form as described in the contract.
• Coordinate with Infrastructure and Application teams for creation and maintenance of the DR sequence plans (real time) which include maintaining steps, contacts and application scope
• Conduct DR test planning meetings as per the DR test calendar
• Experience in conducting Disaster recovery exercise for Data Center, Microsoft Azure and Site Recovery Manager (SRM) technology.
