We are Hiring Business Analyst with one of our UK-Based Global Retail Giant.

Location: Hybrid (Whitefield)

Client: UK-Based Global Retail Giant

Employment Type: Full-time with Careator Technologies

Shift: 12 PM 9 PM IST

Notice Period: Immediate joiners or up to 15 days only

About role

Mandatory Skill Sets

1. Strong in data profiling, lineage analysis, and metadata documentation.

2. Familiar with data modeling (logical/physical/semantic).

3. Experience with reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau) for metadata & quality monitoring.

4. Comfortable working across data engineering, governance, and business teams.

In short: This is a data governance and discovery analyst role, with hands-on work in profiling data sources, documenting metadata, improving models, and building dashboards to track data quality.

Data Discovery & Source Understanding

Profile new and existing data sources to assess structure, content, quality, and readiness for consumption. Conduct detailed data investigations to uncover lineage, anomalies, and inconsistencies. Collaborate with Data Engineering and Domain SMEs to document key data sets, tables, fields, and definitions.

Metadata Quality & Enhancement

Perform metadata assessments to identify gaps in definitions, lineage, and classifications. Define and maintain business metadata (e.g., glossary terms, KPIs, categorizations) and technical metadata (e.g., data types, source systems). Support the enrichment of metadata via manual investigation and collaboration across teams.

Data Modeling & Structure

Contribute to the development and maintenance of logical and physical data models, especially for curated data layers (e.g., semantic models, marts). Recommend improvements to data schema design for analytical performance, standardization, and ease of use.

Reporting & Insights (Secondary)

Build targeted dashboards and reports to highlight data coverage, quality metrics, and metadata completeness. Provide ad-hoc analysis to support discovery-led initiatives, data migrations, or governance projects.

Role Overview
The Business Data Analyst will play a key role in transforming IMIs monthly and forecast reporting by developing dynamic dashboards and reports using Power BI.

This position will enhance visibility and decision-making across IMI Sector Operations by delivering automated, insightful analytics that drive efficiency and clarity.

The ideal candidate will bring strong Power BI expertise and a passion for continuous improvement in reporting tools, processes, and analysis.

Familiarity with financial concepts and terminology is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Automating Operating Performance Reporting packs : Buidling standard, automated monthly and forecast reports in Power BI, with a dynamic link to Microsoft Power Point.
• Enhanced Analytics : Working with the Head of FP&A and FP&A Community to design new dashboards and reports to enhance monthly, forecast and adhoc reporting and analysis enabling faster idenfication of trends, risks and opportunities.
• Ongoing Development : Maintain and evolve dashboards and reports to meet changing business needs.
• Data Management : Extracting, transforming and loading from various datas sources into Power BI, ensuring data integrity and quality.
• Training : Provide Power BI training to the dashboard users on accessing and using Power BI reports across platforms.
• Knowledge Sharing : Suporting the cross functional team to develop and improve self-service Power BI capabilities.
• Collaboration : Working closely with the IMI Data and Analytics team to align with best practices and ensure robust processes around data security and report governance.

Critical Competencies For Success

• Proven experience developing in Power BI including Power Query, DaX and report publishing.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
