What you’ll be doing :

• Serve as the primary finance point of contact for a dedicated portfolio of clients.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, including C-suite executives, finance teams, and operational leads.
• Manage all aspects of the financial close process for assigned clients, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to relevant accounting standards (USGAAP, IFRS, etc.).
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports to clients, providing clear commentary and analysis of performance.
• Develop and manage client budgets and financial forecasts, working collaboratively with client teams to ensure alignment with their business objectives.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and client service delivery.

What are we looking for :

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior accounting role.
• Demonstrated experience in a client-facing role, managing multiple clients simultaneously is a significant advantage.
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (USGAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Excellent financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems. Experience with various accounting platforms is a plus.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance professionals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

About the role

The Entity Controller will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end accounting operations of the entity, ensuring timely and accurate financial closures, compliance with statutory and tax regulations, and alignment with IND AS accounting standards. This role also involves managing audits, guiding the finance team, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, including foreign subsidiaries.

What you’ll be responsible for

1. Accounting & Closures

- Oversee end-to-end accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

- Manage monthly and quarterly financial closures, ensuring timely reporting.

- Ensure proper reconciliation with MIS team for alignment of financial and operational data.

2. Audit & Compliance

- Lead and coordinate internal, statutory, tax, and GST audits.

- Ensure timely closure of audit observations and implementation of recommendations.

- Maintain compliance with IND AS accounting standards and other applicable financial regulations.

3. Intercompany & Subsidiary Management

- Perform and review intercompany reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of mismatches.

- Coordinate with foreign subsidiaries for consolidation, reporting, and compliance.

4. Team Leadership & Support

- Guide and train the accounting team on technical accounting issues and process improvements.

- Act as a subject matter expert for complex accounting treatments and regulatory changes.

5. Ad-hoc & Strategic Support

- Handle ad-hoc financial and operational requirements from management or auditors.

- Support strategic initiatives such as system upgrades, process automation, or restructuring.

What you’d have

- Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification.

- 3+ years of experience in accounting, audit, or financial control roles.

- Strong knowledge of IND AS, GST, and Indian tax laws.

- Experience in multi-entity or multinational environments preferred.

- Proficient in ERP systems (e.G., SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.

- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Job Summary: Finance Controller is responsible for oversee the finance, commercial and accounting functions for our Renewable Energy and EPC businesses. This role will be responsible for financial planning, project accounting, cost control, statutory compliance, tender evaluation, commercial negotiations, receivables management, disposal of advances & deposits, optimisation of input tax credit under GST, claims settlement, handling the queries of statutory and internal auditors in his areas reporting and etc., while ensuring strong financial discipline across projects and operations. The Financial Controller will play a critical role in ensuring financial discipline across projects, supporting bid management, business growth, driving profitability, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning & Control

· Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning for Renewable Energy and EPC verticals.

· Monitor project-wise and business unit-wise financial performance against budgets and KPIs.

· Establish effective cost control and margin monitoring systems.

· Provide financial insights to support management in strategic and operational decision-making.

2. Project Finance & Accounting

· Manage project accounting for renewable energy and EPC projects, including CAPEX, OPEX and cash flow monitoring.

· Ensure accurate revenue recognition in line with project milestones and accounting standards.

· Oversee working capital management, including receivables, payables and inventory.

· Support project financing, debt structuring and liaise with banks/FIs for funding requirements.

3. Commercial & Tendering

· Support bid management teams in preparing financial models, pricing strategies and cash flow projections for tenders.

· Review tender documents to identify financial, tax and contractual implications.

· Lead commercial negotiations with clients, EPC contractors and suppliers to safeguard company interests.

· Assess risks in contracts and ensure adequate financial and legal protections are built in.

· Work closely with business development and tendering teams to improve bid win rates.

4. Compliance & Governance

· Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory requirements related to power, EPC and infrastructure projects.

· Implement and maintain strong internal control systems to safeguard company assets.

· Coordinate with internal and external auditors for smooth audit closure.

· Ensure compliance as per applicable accounting standards.

5. Reporting & MIS

· Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, MIS reports and management dashboards.

· Provide analysis of profitability, cost trends and project financial health to senior management.

· Assist in preparation of board presentations and investor reports.

6. Business & Strategic Support

· Partner with business leaders in evaluating new projects, bids and contracts.

· Provide financial due diligence support for M&A, joint ventures or strategic partnerships.

· Assess financial risks in contracts, EPC projects and renewable energy operations.

· Drive process improvements and digital initiatives in financial systems and reporting.

6. Team Leadership & Development

· Lead and mentor the finance and accounts team across Renewable Energy and EPC businesses.

· Build strong internal capabilities in project accounting, treasury and compliance.

· Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy and continuous improvement.

Key Skills & Competencies

· Strong knowledge of project finance, EPC accounting and renewable energy sector dynamics.

· Expertise in financial modelling, project costing and profitability analysis.

· Sound understanding of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

· Proficiency in MS Excel.

· Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Qualifications & Experience

· Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory.

· 12-15 years of post-qualification experience in finance, with at least 5+ years in Renewable Energy/EPC/Infrastructure sectors.

· Hands on experience on Tally ERP

· Proven track record in managing project finance, audits and financial reporting.

· Experience in working with lenders, investors and external stakeholders.

· Willingness to travel to project sites, client offices and vendor locations as required.
