Title and Summary

Director, Product Management-Technical Overview

Within Mastercard's Products & Engineering, the Cross-Border Services Product management technical team defines initiatives, elaborates epics, features and manages the development and delivery of the capabilities supporting the Product team roadmap and ensures competitive differentiation and alignment with key Mastercard priorities.

As a product owner and PM-T, this position works with cross-functional global stakeholders (Product Strategy, O&T/Technology teams, Service and Network Management) - both internal and external - to define the specifications of the cross-border products capabilities

Responsible for developing inspiring platform/product visions, derived from business needs, market opportunities, and technology trends

Using the Working Backwards method, decomposes business requirements and customer experiences into features and functions that drive the platform/product roadmap

Works with Technical Program Managers, Developers, UX designers, and internal customers to define the details behind the business requirements

Acts as the voice of the business customer and accountable for the platform services



Role

PM-T role for Cross-Border Services manages various cross border services platforms, and their integration with FX/Treasury, Compliance, Settlement, Accounting, Billing and various network systems.

Ensure the integrity and consistency of the delivery of the Cross-Border Services vision across all assets: capabilities, support chain, rationalization and mutualization of assets, readiness for growth and re-usability by other programs.

Flesh out the concepts and achieve clarity of thought about what will ultimately be built. Participate in the definition of the flows and interfaces for all channels (API, UI, Files, SWIFT) between all assets

Joint solution design with the Technology teams in charge of developing each of the Cross-Border Services assets

Decompose the functional and non-functional requirements into user stories, prioritize the backlog, define the acceptance criteria, accept the stories and features.

Produce all the artifacts needed by our internal customers in the larger Product community.

Encourage re-use of their building blocks, continuously innovate on behalf of internal and external customers.

Fully understand the functionality, architecture, dependencies, and runtime properties of the systems supporting the platform products, including: business requirements, use cases, UX, back office systems, technical stack, interfaces and associated data flows, dependent applications/services, runtime operations (i.e. trouble management/associated support strategies), and maintenance.

Participate to Cross-Border Services operational reviews, and address issues and improvements with Technology and Payment Operations

The MasterCard Data & Services Operational Insights Program Global Product Management team is seeking an accomplished technology focused Product Manager to support the evolution of its products. This person will be part of a team of product managers that oversee key activities including execution of the product strategy, management of the roadmap, shaping the product platform architecture and the creation of technical requirements.

This Director role, Product Manager of Automation and Controls, will lead the full lifecycle of development and operational aspects of our equipment automation, building automation, SCADA technologies, and level 1 controls technologies such as data busses and control cabinets. Responsibilities include architecture, delivery, application standardization, design and build standards, vendor engagement, operational performance oversight, and lifecycle management. We operate in an Agile Product Model way of working with central accountability of a Product with the Product Manager. In the near term, strong focus will be placed on building the capability, working across organizations to build the right capability, partnering with Digital Manufacturing Operations at the site and regional levels. Also, partnering with our Capital Delivery organization to build the right Product Delivery squad for the Product Team. .

Primary Responsibilities
Talent

  • Lead a global Team of SCADA, Equipment Automation, Controls, & Building Automation professionals.

Delivery

  • Lead a delivery squad that partners with capital Delivery team.
  • Engage equipment vendors to ensure standardized robust solutions.

  • Owns the Delivery Roadmap and all technical implementation standards for Building Automation, SCADA, and Level 1 Controls.

Platform

  • Product financial and budgeting accountability and stewardship including MS&O and annual portfolio budgets. Incorporate into overall portfolio management process.
  • Develop strategic roadmaps across all key technologies in the Product.
  • Develop strong relationship with key equipment vendors for alignment in technology, architecture, and LCM.
  • Maintain and enforce global application standards including configuration, SDLC documentation, architecture.
  • Design a robust solution architecture that meeting operational requirements and integrates with other shopfloor applications as required to meet business and compliance drivers.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of work experience in a GxP manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related fields.
  • 18+ year experience with shopfloor automation technologies with strong experience with Rockwell, Siemens platforms including PLC's, Industry leading SCADA platforms including Ignition and Wonderware, level 1 controls including control bus technology such as Profibus and Ethernet I/P. Familiarity with Siemens BAS platforms.
  • Understanding of control panel design best practices.
  • Strong understanding of operational technologies in life science manufacturing specifically the business use cases and value drivers of these solutions.
  • Demonstrated superior management skills as well as communication skills that emphasize collaboration in a matrixed organization and ability to align the organization on complex decisions .
  • Strong quantitative skills and the ability to use data and metrics to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement, using lean manufacturing principles
  • Self-motivated, value-oriented with a mindset of continuous learning.
  • Experience managing and motivating a dispersed international team across multiple time zones
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for a wide range of audiences; from entry level associates to site-level leaders.

Responsibilities and Duties: Technical Strategic Roadmap Management: Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap in collaboration with the CTO, that addresses technical constrains, market and customer needs. Building business cases for ROI on new technology, new features. Builds value propositions, pricing for new features / modules. Technology Roadmap Alignment: Ensure that everyone, from engineers to stakeholders, is on the same page regarding product priorities and timelines. Regularly update and revise the product roadmap to reflect changes in the product strategy, vision, or market conditions. Evangelization of strategy and technical roadmap with customers/prospects. Dev/ops and deployment strategy / roadmap definition. Technology Stack and Customer Change Management: Capturing and maintaining product and customer technology stack across versions. 3rd party tech stack management including follow up on EOL, EOS for each component, evaluate/manage 3rd party risks, new versions, upcoming features, and understand dependencies.
