Could you oversee all legal resource related activities concerning our worldwide group, advising all areas of the company on legal/compliance?

Delivering to financial budgets you will own the strategic and operational legal direction of the company as well as managing the legal team and international advisors currently including Clifford Chance and CMS. The board will need your vital advice in all areas of risk, as you maintain the company risk register and help mitigate commercial and compliance risks. You will also design and implement legal policies and procedures and own, design, implement and advise on corporate governance.
You must of course ensure contracts and documents are in line with applicable laws and business purposes globally and close out any legal disputes. You will also co-ordinate company secretarial work and deal with litigation matters in house and/or with external counsel.
To be considered for this key senior role within our organisation you must hold a UK legal qualification or international equivalent, with a current practicing certificate and have experience as in-house counsel. You will have comprehensive “hands on” knowledge of law and corporate business practices both here in the UK and overseas.

Advise on regulatory matters: Analyze and counsel on a range of regulatory legal questions, with a focus on India and the Middle East. Please note that privacy and employment regulations are handled primarily by different legal teams, not this role.
Collaborate effectively: Effectively gather information from employees across a range of functions and roles within Workday. Work cross-functionally with other parts of Legal, People & Purpose, Internal Audit, Ethics & Compliance and other relevant groups on risk evaluation, root cause analysis, and remediation planning.
Communicate clearly: Share findings and advice persuasively, both orally and in writing.
Legal Leadership: Serve as a trusted counselor for issues arising in India and the Middle East.
Conduct corporate investigations: Partner with a dedicated investigator to conduct thorough and impartial investigations into allegations of misconduct. Corporate investigations covers topics including but not limited to fraud, misuse of confidential information, conflicts of interest, bribery or corruption, and other violations of our Code of Conduct. This includes developing investigation plans, conducting witness interviews, analyzing evidence, and preparing reports. You will also advise on investigations performed by other teams, such as Employee Relations, that have a corporate investigation component.
About You
Basic Qualifications
Law degree (e.g., LLB, JD, LLM) from a recognized university and active enrollment with a State Bar Council in India, demonstrating the ability to practice law in India.
12+ years of relevant legal experience, with a focus on investigations, regulatory law, or a combination.
