Overview of the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced and performance-driven Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to oversee and grow our client's pet food business in a designated region of India. The RSM will lead a regional sales team, manage distributor networks, and develop strategic relationships with pet shops, retailers, distributors, and key accounts to drive sustainable revenue and brand visibility.
Principal Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with company goals including sales forecasting, budgeting, and new business development.
- Lead, coach, and manage the regional sales team to achieve targets. Drive performance reviews, skill development, and motivation.
- Build strong relationships with key accounts, retailers, and distributors. Ensure customer satisfaction and identify growth opportunities.
- Analyses sales data, competitor activity, and market trends. Share insights and regular reports with senior management.
- Coordinate workflow with Marketing and Supply Chain teams. Participate in promotional activities such as events and exhibitions.
- Conduct regular market visits to monitor territory coverage, product visibility, pricing, and competitor activity.
- Represent the brand at industry events, trade fairs, and customer engagement forums.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Veterinary Sciences, Animal Nutrition, or related fields. MBA is preferred.
- Minimum 7–10 years of sales experience, with at least 3 years as RSM leadership role in pet food industry.
- Strong understanding of pet food distribution, customer behavior, and retail dynamics in India.
- Existing relationships within the pet care industry will be an advantage.
- Ability to work independently, handle a multi-state team, and travel extensively within the region.
- Proficient in using MS Office, CRM tools, and data analytics platforms.
Terms and Conditions
- This is a full-time position.
- Candidate must be able to regularly commute to office when being asked.
- Candidate must be able to travel both within the regions when being asked.
- Candidate must be able to write and communicate in English and submit reports in a timely manner.
