Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Jaipur for a Textile Designer focusing on apparel and home furnishings. The Textile Designer will conceptualize and develop original designs for prints, embroideries, and woven textiles across product lines. Daily responsibilities include creating design concepts, preparing artwork and technical files, selecting color palettes, and translating ideas into production-ready designs. The role involves working closely with the design and production teams, coordinating with vendors and artisans, reviewing samples, and refining designs based on feedback and market trends. The designer will also conduct trend and material research, maintain design archives, and ensure that all outputs align with brand identity and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in textiles and textile prints, with the ability to develop patterns and surfaces for apparel and home furnishings.
- Candidates should possess skills in embroidery design, including motif development, stitch detailing, and application across varied product categories.
- Candidates should possess graphic and graphic design skills, including proficiency in design software (such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop) for creating and adapting artwork.
- Candidates should have a good understanding of color theory, fabric types, and production processes relevant to textile design.
- Relevant degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in textile or surface design for apparel and/or home furnishings is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects, and effective communication and collaboration skills are expected.
- Familiarity with craft-based techniques, sustainable practices, and working with artisan communities is an advantage.
