Role Title - Manager - Supply Chain Management (Sub-Station Procurement)

Job Location - Noida

Role Summary - Role holder will anchor the strategic & operational sourcing for Substations (765 KV / 400 KV, 400 KV/220 KV/132 KV), Bid Support, contract management and supplier management.

Working with (supplement with org structure) Deputy General Manager - Supply Chain Management Asset Management team, vendors / partners

What the role entails

• Substation Equipment Sourcing:

• Identify suitable vendors and procure substation-specific equipment / spares and consumables essential for substation functionality (e.g., transformers, reactors, circuit breakers, isolators, CVT, CT, control and relay panels, switchgear, cables, auxiliary power systems, earthing systems, lightning arresters, busbars, battery chargers, substation automation systems, and cooling/ventilation systems, illumination system, structural and civil Works etc)

• Service Provider Identification and Management:

• Identify and manage service providers specialized in substation O&M, including the appointment of vendors for tasks such as maintenance, inspection, repair, overhauling, and technical support

• Managing PR-PO Processes and approvals:

• Oversee the PR to PO process, including eNFA approvals; ensure strict adherence to the organizational P2P policy and maintain optimal TAT for PR-PO transactions related to substation projects.

• Vendor Relationship Building:

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers, ensuring reliable procurement channels and consistent quality

• Cost Optimization & securing favourable terms:

• Develop cost-effective procurement strategies, conducting internal costing assessment, negotiating competitive prices, exploring alternate suppliers, and ensuring optimal terms and conditions in favour of the company

• Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, effectively communicating with Asset Management and site teams to align procurement strategies with project objectives

• Preparation of MIS

• Develop and maintain detailed MIS reports for Substation function to effectively track procurement status, encompassing budget versus actual expenditure analysis, offers status, and procurement progress updates

Essential Desirable

• B. Tech / BE - Electrical with about 7-9 years of experience

• Strategic sourcing of supply and services (Substation & Transmission Line)

• Negotiations, end to end procurement process

• Working knowledge of SAP & Maximo Familiarity with Solar Plants (PV & CSP)

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee end-to-end supply chain activities, including procurement, vendor management, logistics, and inventory control.
li>Lead Vendor Development initiatives to establish long-term relationships and ensure consistent quality and cost-effective sourcing.
• Manage Capital Expenditure (Capex) planning, budgeting, and investments for the supply chain function.
• Implement Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements and cost reductions.
• Drive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and equipment reliability.
• Ensure timely and accurate material planning and supply chain synchronization to meet production and business needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Procurement) to optimize supply chain processes and ensure smooth operations.
• Monitor performance metrics and KPIs, and take corrective actions to optimize supply chain performance.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• In-depth experience in vendor development and sourcing strategies.
• Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM practices.
• Experience with Capex management and financial planning.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in SAP and MS Office tools.

. Procurement & Vendor Management

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing of raw materials, components, and parts.
li>Evaluate and onboard vendors based on quality, cost, capacity, and delivery capabilities.
• Monitor supplier performance and initiate corrective actions as required.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with vendors to achieve optimal terms.

2. Inventory & Material Management

• Monitor and control inventory levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
• Implement Just-in-Time (JIT) and Lean inventory practices.
• Coordinate material planning with production, purchase, and warehouse teams.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/MS Dynamics).

3. Logistics & Distribution

• Optimize inbound and outbound logistics for timely delivery and cost efficiency.
• Work closely with logistics partners for freight, warehousing, and transportation services.
• Ensure compliance with customs, excise, and other regulatory requirements.

4. Production Planning & Coordination

• Align material supply plans with production schedules and forecasts.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams for smooth operations.
• Drive demand planning and capacity alignment across supply chain nodes.

5. Strategic Initiatives & Cost Optimization

• Identify and implement supply chain improvement projects for lead time reduction, cost savings, and efficiency gains.
• Apply analytics and data-driven decision-making to optimize supply chain performance.
• Evaluate supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies.

6. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop the SCM team to meet department objectives.
• Act as a liaison between suppliers, internal departments, and customers.
• Present KPIs, reports, and project updates to senior management.

Working as subject matter experts and trusted advisors in everything Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O, our Functional Consultants can advise clients in business terms about how to transform their business in line with the capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics 365 SCM and the Power Platform and are able to translate it into technical requirements.

What will you be doing?

· Participate in and lead client workshops to analyse, design, and validate Dynamics 365 Supply Chain solutions.

· Define and evaluate both functional and non-functional requirements across key SCM processes (e.g. production, planning, warehousing, procurement).

· Write detailed functional specifications and collaborate closely with technical teams to ensure accurate translation of business requirements.

· Prototype, configure, and test business processes in line with best practices and project methodology.

· Document system configuration and prepare project deliverables including process flows, test scripts, and training materials.

· Support client teams during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and go-live preparation.

· Deliver training sessions to key users and end-users, tailored to their operational context.

· Mentor and coach junior consultants and analysts, providing guidance on solution design, documentation standards, and client interaction.

· Act as a quality gate for deliverables produced by less experienced team members, offering constructive feedback and knowledge sharing.
