Software Quality Assurance Engineer/Technologist, working on Train Performance LOCOTROL® Technologies. **Job Description**
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced **QA Engineer** to join our team, specializing in ETL testing and data validation. In this role, you will design and execute comprehensive test cases and scripts to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across complex data pipelines. You'll collaborate closely with developers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand technical and business requirements, and use tools like SQL, Azure Synapse, and Microsoft Fabric to validate data flows.
You'll manage test documentation using platforms such as JIRA, Confluence, and TestRail, and actively participate in Agile development cycles. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, hands-on experience with Power BI and DAX, and familiarity with cloud technologies including Azure Event Hubs, DevOps pipelines, and GitHub. Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or PySpark is a plus. This role requires a proactive mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to ensure the delivery of high-quality data solutions.
**Responsibilities**
+ Design, plan, and execute test cases, scenarios, and scripts for ETL validation and regression testing.
+ Verify and validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency using ETL tools and SQL queries.
+ Create and maintain test cases, scripts, and documentation in test management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and TestRail.
+ Collaborate with developers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements for ETL testing.
+ Identify, document, and report defects, issues, and risks related to ETL testing.
+ Conduct root cause analysis on any issues that arise during testing and provide recommendations for remediation.
+ Work in an Agile environment to ensure timely delivery of high-quality ETL testing.
**About You**
+ Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
+ 3+ years of experience in ETL testing, data validation, and data analysis.
+ Strong SQL skills and experience working with ETL tools, Azure Synapse, and Microsoft Fabric.
+ Experience with testing tools such as JIRA and TestRail.
+ Experience in Agile/Scrum software development methodology.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Hands-on experience with Power BI models and DAX.
+ Familiarity with Azure storage, Blob containers, SQL Server, Azure Event Hubs, Azure DevOps pipelines, and GitHub.
+ Familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, and PySpark.
+ Ability to work independently and as a team member.
+ Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Mandatory Skill: Playwright (TypeScript)
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for UI testing (using Playwright and Selenium) and API testing (using Rest Assured and other tools).
- Create and execute automated tests for RESTful APIs, validating request/response, status codes, headers, payloads, and data integrity.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA team members to understand requirements and translate them into test cases.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test data for automated and manual testing.
- Perform end-to-end, integration, regression, smoke, and sanity testing.
- Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and log bugs using tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
- Contribute to the integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

- Version control using Git.
- Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
