Let me tell you about the role
Provision of deep process engineering expertise and judgment in service of the assets, working closely with Squad Leads to ensure efficient handling of all issues that require engineering input to resolve. Ensure pragmatic solutions are implemented for risk mitigation, production efficiency improvement, maintenance, defect elimination and engineering standardization in support of safe, reliable and compliant operations.
What you will deliver
Provide Process Engineering expertise to other teams by performing and reviewing complex, or non-routine Process engineering calculations and analyses
Support production facilities through troubleshooting, identification of facility optimization options to grow production (debottlenecking) and avoid deferrals.
Keep asset HYSYS models up to date in collaboration with the Process Engineer (Production Management)
Provide Process Engineering expertise to MoCs, brownfield projects and modifications, hazard identification and risk assessment processes
Provide Process Engineering expertise in performing incident investigations and defect investigations
Ensure that appropriate process safety-related assessments are carried out for Risk Assessments to ensure that risks associated with safety system bypasses/defeats
Provide Process and Process Safety (P&PS) expertise to Operations, including monitoring design and operating envelope excursions, ensuring that P&PS engineering documentation is up to date
Support the regional Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) and Major Accident Risk (MAR) revalidation by partnering with bpSolutions for delivery
Provide Process Engineering expertise to delivery of regional actions and lead on resolution of complex, multi-disciplinary technical issues where the dominant component is process or process safety related
Record relevant learnings in shared learning systems, incorporates into local activities and escalates high priority lessons
What you will need to be successful
Must have educational qualifications:
Degree in Chemical Engineering
Preferred education/certifications:

The offshore structural engineer will provide subject area expertise for project and operation support, including greenfield and brownfield projects, operational modifications, life extension, and decommissioning support. The engineer will proactively collaborate with other subject areas and contractors to systematically resolve technical challenges, apply sound engineering judgment to drive integrated, pragmatic solutions for risk management, project delivery, operational efficiency, defect elimination, and standardization.
The offshore structural engineer would be based in Pune, India.
We are looking for a candidate with broad experience in both topside (floating or fixed) and jacket design, construction, and installation, as well as a proven technical background who can make fit-for-purpose recommendations for projects and operations. - define the structural engineering scope of work for new construction, modifications to existing assets, life extension, and decommissioning, focusing on topside structure or jacket;

Role Synopsis:
The Systems & Data Specialist role involves working with the Systems & Transformation Discipline Lead in support of the projects’ Digital Strategy, driving the delivery, deployment and adoption of several high-profile digital products, and prioritizing critical data initiatives within the digital portfolio as it relates to reusable and reliable data products. You will collaborate with multiple key stakeholders across project teams, disciplines and with our Technology partners
The role holder will be a member of the centralised systems and tools squad in bp’s major capital projects delivery organisation. The team have overall responsibility for driving the optimisation of the digital solutions being utilised and developed across the organisation ensuring business requirements are met and value is delivered with consistent adoption of the toolkit.
The squad is responsible for ensuring that core software systems are onboarded on projects with the required functionality, configuration, data standards and user support. This hands-on, customer facing role will involve administering vendor supplied applications (eg Primavera P6, Omega Pims) as well as in-house developed applications and providing outstanding levels of support to large user communities of projects professionals, including senior leadership.
The role holder will also be expected to act as the single SME for several of our key applications relating to core project processes (eg Project Controls, performance management, completions management, resource management) requiring specialist knowledge in the technology, people and process.

Onboard / stand up approved systems on projects ensuring they are appropriately configured and that our project teams are set up for success with the right tools at the right time during the project life cycle.
Utilize advanced system edit rights to administer the suite of Project Management systems maintaining accurate user assignment for our 1,000+ user base whilst maintaining process defined settings, protocols and configurations.
Respond to front line user requests via central inbox providing super user level support, including re-routing and re-assigning workflows, amending action target dates, maintaining user groups / scopes, troubleshooting user issues and providing guidance to globally based project teams ensuring standards and processes are followed.
Provide advanced system & business process support to our end-user communities including training, coaching and discipline standard process.

- Minimum 5 years of front-end engineering experience in upstream capital projects, specifically in FEL 1 (Appraise), FEL 2A (Concept Development), and FEL 2B (Optimise/Pre-FEED) phases – gained with Oil & Gas Operators or Front-End Engineering Contractors, or Consultants.
Must have experiences/skills (To be hired with):
- Proven expertise in front-end project development and process engineering, including feasibility, concept selection, and optimisation.
- Strong technical foundation in a core engineering discipline (process engineering, or a related front-end field), with hands-on experience in Process Safety (e.g. ISD, HAZID, Preliminary HAZOPs, MARs) and with process design and simulation tools (e.g. HYSYS, PipeSim, ProII, OLGA).
- Demonstrated ability to deliver integrated engineering solutions across multidisciplinary teams (subsurface, wells, brownfield, operations, HSSE, commercial, PSCM).
- Experience spanning multiple project stages, combining technical depth, leadership, and commercial awareness.
- Skilled in identifying, managing, and clearly communicating risks and opportunities.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Proven ability to foster collaboration across geographically distributed teams.
- Self-motivated learner with the ability to quickly acquire new skills.
Good to have experiences/skills (Can be trained for – learning/on-the-job):
- Broad understanding of upstream Oil & Gas operations—subsurface, wells, facilities, and commercial.
- Ability to balance big-picture thinking with attention to technical detail.
- Familiarity with international energy company engineering practices and industry standards.
- Understanding of commercial and economic drivers in project development.
- Awareness of major project delivery processes and governance models used by global energy companies.
