Your Opportunity

For this position and its main assignment, the ideal candidate will demonstrate skills and experience across project, transformation and organizational change management, with a particular focus on delivery in the training stream of the project:

  • Aligning vision, values and culture through targeted efforts with project team, sponsor, leaders, and other stakeholders
  • Creating a holistic training delivery & project adoption strategy based on impact & risk assessments and with clear success criteria, metrics and KPIs
  • Training material/content: creation of comprehensive training materials, including manuals, e-learning content, videos, and presentations; utilization of visual design principles to develop engaging and effective visual aids that enhance learning and retention; planning, coordination, and collaboration with subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy and relevance of training content; review and updating training materials in alignment with best practices for continual improvement; training documents and materials optimized for use with Language Model Machines (LLMs) to enhance automated learning applications
  • Training delivery: training sessions delivered to various audiences, ensuring clarity and engagement; training needs assessments to identify skills gaps and develop targeted training programs to address them
  • Continual improvement: implementation of assessment tools to measure training effectiveness and gather feedback for continual improvement; utilization of various technologies and platforms to create and deliver training, including Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Tracking and reporting progress and risks to the successful implementation of your strategy
  • Applied knowledge in Project & Organizational Change Management: familiar / experienced with project management and organizational change management methods, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and alignment with objectives

    • Collaborate with the change management team to assess risks, analyze stakeholders' expectations, and tailor communication approaches to facilitate change adoption.
    • Lead Change Management Communication workshops to equip leaders and employees with the skills and knowledge to effectively communicate change within their teams.
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our Workplace Change Management Program and Toolkit by staying up-to-date with industry best practices and incorporating new techniques and approaches.
    • Foster strong relationships with senior stakeholders, providing influential leadership and ensuring alignment between communication strategies and change objectives.
    • Possess a BA/BS degree in Communications, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 8 years of experience in change management, including at least 4 years in a senior role overseeing change initiatives and communication efforts.
    • Demonstrated expertise in driving successful change management through the development and execution of CM-Engagement-Communication Plans within complex corporate environments.
    • Proven track record of creating and delivering impactful change communication materials, including presentations to executive stakeholders and employee groups.
    • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling change messages for different mediums and audiences.
    • Extensive experience with various communication channels and technologies, including email marketing platforms, intranet systems, collaboration tools, and multimedia production.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficient in analyzing feedback and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and make data-driven improvements.
    • Exceptional project management abilities, with the capacity to effectively prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence senior stakeholders, and collaborate effectively in a team-driven environment.
    • In-depth knowledge of change management methodologies, such as Prosci, and relevant certifications are highly beneficial.

    About the Role
    This 2-year maximum-term opportunity involves coordinating and executing change management initiatives within our Customer Transformation and Technology team. You will support the successful deployment of systems such as Works Portal and Land Development, engaging stakeholders from frontline teams to executives, developing tailored change strategies, and ensuring seamless adoption.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead Change Delivery:  Drive end-to-end change initiatives, including the implementation and ongoing support of Works Portal and Land Development with ability to anticipate the impact on people and processes.
    • Develop & Execute Change Strategies:  Craft innovative plans and support with the execution of encompassing communication, training, and stakeholder engagement.
    • Stakeholder Engagement:  Build strong, trust-based relationships across all levels, particularly with external partners to the business.
    • Assess Impact & Readiness:  Conduct impact assessments, risk analysis, and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Training & Communication:  Design and assist with delivering compelling programs to promote adoption and reduce resistance both within Yarra Valley Water and our external Customers.
    • Cultivate a Continuous Improvement Culture:  Identify and act on opportunities for process and systems enhancement.
    • Deliver required change management artefacts and/or material to assist in the delivery of core projects.
    • Provide input, support and attend if required project Steering committees.

    About You

    • Extensive experience in change management, with a solid track record of leading large-scale digital transformations.
    • Experience managing technology implementations, especially in customer service, field services or similar environments.
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, IT, or related fields.
    • Change management certification such as Prosci, APMG, or equivalent.
    • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and ways of working.
    • Proven leadership skills, particularly in guiding cross-functional teams.

    Key Skills

    • Proven experience managing change in large scale digital transformation and complex cybersecurity projects.
    • Influencing large teams through security and infrastructure upgrades.
    • Developing and applying effective change management strategies and impact assessments.
    • Translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
    • Building relationships across all levels, including senior management.
    • Managing project risks and ensuring timely delivery.
