We are looking for a passionate and driven **Junior User Researcher** to join our team at Plantix. In this role, you will be responsible for research operations and conducting user research across a wide range of projects, from farmer-facing apps to our expanding SaaS and data solutions for agri-tech, insurance companies, banks, and more. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and engineers, to ensure that our digital products are user-centered and meet the diverse needs of our users.
Your research will directly impact farmers, retailers, and industry partners as we develop innovative solutions to improve agricultural productivity and sustainability. Whether it's understanding the challenges faced by farmers in rural India, evaluating the needs of agri-retailers, or supporting the creation of data-driven products for various agri-tech stakeholders, your insights will be vital to the success of Plantix's mission.
This position requires frequent travel to rural areas across India to meet with farmers, gather insights, and conduct field research, making it a dynamic role with the opportunity to make a direct impact on both the farming community and the broader agri-tech ecosystem.
**Educational and Work Experience Expectations**:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Anthropology, Design, Social Sciences, HCI or a related field)
- 1-3 years of experience in User research or related fields
**Must-Have Skills**:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in research operations, including participant recruitment, scheduling, data organization, and managing research tools, with the ability to streamline workflows and support efficient study execution
- Experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods (interviews, surveys, usability testing, etc.)
- Ability to assist in creating journey maps, affinity maps and other UX research artefacts
- Ability to analyze and synthesize data to extract actionable insights
- Proficiency in at least one Indian languages such as Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam (in addition to English)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Empathy for the users and an understanding of their challenges
**Good-to-Have Skills**:
- Experience in primary and secondary research
- Familiarity with agricultural practices and the challenges or prior experience working in the agriculture sector, rural development, or related research domains
- Knowledge of tools like Figma, Miro, or similar design collaboration platforms
- Understanding of quantitative research methods and data analysis
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently

Role Overview: We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Research Assistant to join our team for a structured, 2-month full-time engagement. Reporting directly to the leadership team, you will play a foundational role in our strategic growth by identifying and analyzing grants and funding opportunities. Your research will directly enable our efforts to secure the resources needed to protect children in the digital age. This is an ideal opportunity for an individual passionate about social impact, non-profit strategy, and child welfare who can commit to a full-time schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive research to identify potential funding sources, including government grants, private foundations, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs focused on digital safety, child welfare, and technology for good.
- Analyze grant eligibility requirements, funding priorities, application timelines, and historical funding patterns to assess alignment with our mission.
- Develop and maintain a structured database of prospective funders, key contacts, and application deadlines.
- Prepare concise summaries and reports on high-potential funding opportunities for the leadership team.
- Assist in gathering preliminary data and documentation required for grant proposals during standard working hours.
- Monitor trends and new developments in the philanthropic landscape related to our core area of work.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- A Master's degree (or currently pursuing one) in Public Policy, Social Work, International Development, Law, Business, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Exceptional research, analytical, and information synthesis skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Highly organized with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage tasks independently within a structured workday.
- Proficiency in using online databases, advanced search engine queries, and standard office software (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office).
- A genuine interest in and passion for the field of children's digital safety.
- Self-motivated and capable of thriving in a remote, full-time work environment.
