    Experience & Background (Combined Requirements) Criteria

    Requirement Experience

  • 5-7 years of overall industry experience preferred
  • 3-5 years in Command & Control Centre / NOC / SOC
  • Hands-on experience in 24x7 global IT operations
  • Prior roles as IT Operations/Monitoring Specialist or Event Management Lead
  • Technical Skill Set Area

    Requirement

  • Monitoring Tools
  • Proficient in tools such as Datadog, SolarWinds, Dynatrace, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana , etc.

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    The Event Management role is responsible for leveraging ITIL process skills, specifically focused on event management monitoring across the IT estate. The role will initially focused on IT infrastructure and operations and then expand into customer journeys.

    This role is important to service reliability increases that Hapag-Lloyd is investing in. Capturing events and identifying critical issues needing attention will be the primary mission supporting the maturity increase through reactive > proactive > predictive and preventative approach, leveraging SRE, AI and ML capabilities. The role requires working in a 24x7 global operation environment to deliver service excellence.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

  • Ensure all events are properly converted into alerts and logged within agreed timeframes to the correct teams and contain all the information required so that support groups can trigger restoration activities efficiently
  • Act as the first point of escalation for senior IT stakeholders and staff within the IT Digital Operations Centre (IT DOC)
  • Accountable for the Event Management Process and execution
  • Ensure escalations from the rest of Hapag-Lloyd Engineering, Architecture & Operations (EAO), other internal Product Related Staff customers are dealt with appropriately
  • Perform a lead role in the development of the IT DOC service/processes to improve the user experience of Hapag-Lloyd IT.
  • Within the IT DOC working together with the Head of IT DOC & ITSM, Major Incident Managers, other IT DOC staff and wider functions of EAO in the pursuit of Service & Operational Excellence
  • Responsible for improving the knowledge around Event Management
  • The Event Manager participates in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance event management processes, tools, and capabilities. Identify opportunities for automation, streamlining workflows, and optimizing event detection and response.

  • Total experience of 9 to 12 years.
  • Experience of operating as a Duty Manager in a multi-disciplined service management team (ideally from within a NOC/SOC environment)
  • Minimum 3-5 years Command & Control Centre/NOC Management experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience of working within a global NOC/SOC environment
  • Knowledge of hybrid cloud, network, virtualization, compute, database and storage technologies.
  • Solid experience of ServiceNow
  • Proficient in the use of an array of monitoring tools
  • Good understanding of current and emerging technologies and how these are applied in complex multi-vendor environments.
  • EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Information Technology, Computer Science, Operations Management or related).
  • ITIL 3 or 4 certification
  • Project Management education and experience
  • Agile delivery methodology
  • Total experience of 5-7 years, minimum of 5 years of experience working with ServiceNow.
  • Experience with ServiceNow modules ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, and Incident Management.

    • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience of working within a global NOC/SOC environment
    • Knowledge of hybrid cloud, network, virtualization, compute, database and storage technologies.
    • Solid experience of ServiceNow
    • Proficient in the use of an array of monitoring tools
    • Good understanding of current and emerging technologies and how these are applied in complex multi-vendor environments.

    EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Information Technology, Computer Science, Operations Management or related).

    The Service Management Office is looking for an experienced IT Service Management Analyst to assist with our Service Management processes with a focus on Event Management using ServiceNow ITOM. You will perform the day-to-day delivery of Event Management services to the organization, taking general direction from the ITOM Manager, and specific direction from the Event Management Process Owner. This includes the ongoing definition and improvement of service management policies, processes, procedures and their supporting tools. You will also work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure event management, alerting and incident creation are optimized to meet business and stakeholder requirements while following the established process. You will also support the organization's IT service management goals as well as encourage the adoption of ITIL practices (IT Infrastructure Library) throughout Global SAS IT. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Defining, documenting, socializing, and enabling processes related to event management 
  • Performing operational activities as defined by Event Management policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and organizational goals
  • Working to fulfill tickets for incidents, requests and enhancements related to event management
  • Engaging with strategic projects to ensure Event Management can deliver required functionality within project timeframes
  • Providing guidance and training to cross-functional teams on event management processes
  • Ensuring that event management is functioning well with other IT Service Management (ITSM) processes 
  • Establishing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to ensure the effectiveness of event management
  • Collaborating with IT and non-IT stakeholders, ServiceNow Product Owners, Architects, Developers, and Process Owners to improve IT service management processes and enhance customer experience and efficiencies
  • Running and delivering reports as required
  • Collecting and reporting metrics as required
  • Identifying service improvement opportunities
  • This role requires a combination of technical expertise, process management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments to ensure effective event management.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field plus seven years’ experience in IT. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may replace these requirements.
  • Technical: Strong knowledge of ServiceNow ITOM and ITSM and how the processes interact with each otherExperienced in Agile and Scrum, including writing and updating sprint stories General familiarity with IT on-premise and cloud architectures and platforms: Linux & Windows Servers, Virtual Instances, Databases, Storage, Firewalls, Routers, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform

The IT Analyst is required to play a crucial role in helping Hapag-Lloyd to achieve its goals by successfully innovating and creating world class solutions while optimizing the costs as efficiently as possible.

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    The Event Management role is responsible for leveraging ITIL process skills, specifically focused on event management monitoring across the IT estate. The role will initially focused on IT infrastructure and operations and then expand into customer journeys.This role is important to service reliability increases that Hapag-Lloyd is investing in. Capturing events and identifying critical issues needing attention will be the primary mission supporting the maturity increase through reactive > proactive > predictive and preventative approach, leveraging SRE, AI and ML capabilities. The role requires working in a 24x7 global operation environment to deliver service excellence.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASK

  • Ensure all enterprise infrastructure and application events are properly converted into alerts and logged within agreed timeframes to the correct teams and contain all the information required so that support groups can trigger restoration activities efficiently
  • Act as the first point of escalation for senior IT stakeholders and staff within the IT Digital Operations Centre (IT DOC)
  • Accountable for the Event Management Process and execution
  • Ensure escalations from the rest of Hapag-Lloyd Engineering, Architecture & Operations (EAO), other internal Product Related Staff customers are dealt with appropriately
  • Perform a lead role in the development of the IT DOC service/processes to improve the user experience of Hapag-Lloyd IT.
  • Within the IT DOC working together with the Head of IT DOC & ITSM, Major Incident Managers, other IT DOC staff and wider functions of EAO in the pursuit of Service & Operational Excellence
  • Responsible for improving the knowledge around Event Management
  • The Event Manager participates in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance event management processes, tools, and capabilities. Identify opportunities for automation, streamlining workflows, and optimizing event detection and response.
  • Accountable for the IT DOC teams while on shift
  • Ensure escalations from the rest of Hapag-Lloyd Infrastructure and Operations, other internal staff and customers are dealt with appropriately
  • Perform a lead role in the development of the IT DOC service/processes to improve the user experience of Hapag-Lloyd IT
  • Within the IT DOC working together with the IT DOC Manager, Major Incident Managers, IT DOC staff and the representatives of Network UCC and Security regarding overall delivery of the IT DOC
