The position holder leads several global development projects in the product development team. He represents them independently towards internal and external customers. The latter takes place in coordination with Sales in the relevant region. Responsible for the timely achievement of project turning points. Development of innovative products in the associated area of thermal management fluid development. He is the technical contact for component suppliers in order to identify suitable additives and/or base oils or arrange their targeted synthesis. The evaluation of new raw material components with the aim of differentiation as well as the analysis and evaluation of relevant competitive products are among his main tasks. Maintaining workplace safety standards in compliance with HSSE regulations and local legal requirements is a priority in all tasks.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Strategy
Develops a product development strategy for the projects assigned to him
Develops an implementation strategy for strategic OEM customers
Establishing and maintaining a contact map with the customers of his projects through regular visits and calls
Representation of BP/Castrol with technical opinions and statements at external events (e.g. in specialist lectures) as well as participation in external working groups
Query the global listing status for new raw materials as part of the chemical inventory compliance process.

Planning

Overview:
The Senior Manager – Engineering and Projects is a part of Site Leadership
The incumbent provides support to Plant Manager by leading all engineering, maintenance and project activities in the plant.
The role holder has to lead a team of engineers of various disciplines in planning, organizing and controlling the projects and engineering related activities within the plant. The role holder is responsible for managing maintenance of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment’s, in house projects & manufacturing agenda for the site.
About the role!
- To plan, schedule, implement, supervise and review maintenance of manufacturing assets to ensure reliability and availability of production assets at levels over 95%.
- To innovate and drive energy initiatives at plant for energy savings and to reduce cost.
- Handling and maintaining critical equipment “fit for purpose” by complying to integrity management for plant assets,
- Implementation of engineering procedures to ensure full compliance to the BP Group Engineering standards and procedures.
- Lead and drive Lean Manufacturing projects of the plant, one of the critical initiatives of BP/Castrol.
- Formulate and acquire approval for the maintenance budget for conducting Maintenance activities,
- Review, supervise and control the annual budget expenditures to agreed budget.

Roles & responsibilities:
- Act as BP Contract Accountable to ensure safe execution of the contracted work while applying the Working with Contractor process throughout for the contract period.
- Act as Risk Owner for risk events as assigned in the facility risk register with accountabilities including accurate documentation and assessment of the risk event, consulting with domain experts as appropriate, assign action owners to risk reduction measures, monitoring and self-verification closure with efficiency and communication of the importance to the workforce that may be affected.
- Ensure that all procedures falling under the ownership of this role are maintained and reviewed on the agreed frequency, kept up-to-date, and changes detailed and reflected in OMS ONLINE as appropriate. Experience & Qualifications:
- Should be an Engineer with at least 10-12 years of experience in Manufacturing/FMCG Organization.
- At least 10-12 years’ experience in engineering and maintenance activities in plants preferable supply chain areas.
- Good knowledge of project management, planning, co-ordination, negotiations with sound commercial judgment and should be able to work well under pressure and with competing priorities.
- Basic knowledge on statutory requirements like factories act, petroleum rules, electricity acts and rules.
- Basic knowledge in electrical and instrumentation functions
- This position requires good people management skills and should be able to lead a team – along with a battery of contractors.
- Experience in communicating and interfacing with all levels of the organization and external agencies/ contacts including statutory bodies

In this role, you will support the Castrol GSC competitiveness agenda by leading and delivering specific projects in the area of manufacturing and logistics improvements, product portfolio transformation that will enable a leaner and more cost efficient supply chain in Europe, Middle East , Turkye and Africa.
What you will deliver !
The role requires working collaboratively with various cross functional teams, to execute and lead multiple projects from the strategic projects portfolio.
You accountabilities are to :
* lead the process implementation to meet timeline, cost, and quality objectives
* ensure a robust project planning
* provide assurance and tracking of the specific project deliveries
* communicate project progress through steerco and governance meetings with the key stakeholders
* inspire and motivate the project team members to deliver on time and in full
* unblock issues that come along the way during the project, where needed by escalation to the relevant people
Experience and Qualifications
To be successful, you will need to
- have outstanding communication skills – both verbal and written
- have the ability to engage, build relationships with and influence senior leadership and key business stakeholders
- be able to work with Microsoft Excel tools ( PowerPoint, Excell) and understand BP/Castrol specific project structure & reporting tools
- be flexible to support the team where needed and to flag any issues in due time
- be able to energize people and create a one-team mood

- the GSC Competitiveness team, that hosts a Digital , New Product Introduction and Project Lead team
- your specific project team , that is limited in time and resource spend for the duration of the projects
