**Overall Purpose of the Role**

Support day-to-day accounting activities, include record-to-report activities for film cost recognition and amortization, subscription and content licensing revenue, intercompany transactions, OPEX, etc. of HBO APAC entities

**MAJOR ACTIVITIES**
**General Accounting**
+ Responsible for various month end/ quarterly deliverables
+ Maintaining proper Fixed Assets record and all Fixed Assets report enquiries
+ Review balance sheet reconciliations
+ Reviewing provision and accrual expenses
+ Prepare monthly accruals journal entries
+ Manage third party provider and record month end delta entries for HBO Taiwan
+ Manage off shore service provider and record month end delta entries for HBO Beijing
+ Liaise with insurance agent for renewal of Industrial All Risks & General Liability insurance by yearly basis
+ Support internal and external audit request
+ Work in collaboration with Finance, Business, LOB, GBS on cross divisional initiatives and handles reporting requests/questions received from various stakeholders
+ Responsible and manage month end close processes and deliverables
+ Perform ad hoc analysis for Sr. Manager/ Manager as well as working with different departments and handle queries within the organization
+ Coordinate with other team members to reconcile identified variance, adjustments to be made
+ Assist in various global/ department initiatives, such as system migration and Account Reconciliation Harmonization
+ Ensure expenses code to correct accounting code and all data entry are accurately input into accounting system

**Selection criteria**
Essential:
+ Preferred fully qualified Accountant - CPA
+ Strong technical experience including experience of month end management accounting for revenue and cost
+ US GAAP reporting and SOX experience
+ Experience of multi-site and multi-currency reporting
+ Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting
+ High level interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Desirable:
+ Experience in Integrated finance applications/information systems e.g. SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle
+ Experience working with outsourced financial functions

Reporting to the AP Team lead, the Source to Pay (S2P) Accounting Specialist is primarily responsible for P2P Account Monitoring, Reconciliation Review and troubleshooting. Management of offshore accounting resources to ensure ongoing clearing and reconciliation of P2P accounts (primarily Accounts Payable account). Follow-up and problem-solving with other functional groups (e.g. Treasury) within the company to resolve clearing and reconciliation issues. Supports Merger & Acquisition activity as it impacts P2P accounts. Ensures P2P account operations are aligned with the Global Core Model.
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:**
·Manage and oversee the work being done by the BPO outsourced team as it relates to clearing, monitoring and reconciling all S2P accounts including liability accounts such as Goods receipt/Invoice receipt account (GR/IR), 3rd party Trade payables account, Unclaimed Property account, travel and Expense account, Cash transit, Prepaid Expenses, Other Accruals, and other accounts under S2P per Core Model guidelines.
Monitor monthly aging and ending balances for all in scope accounts and identify any incorrect entries or issues to resolve with respective teams prior to reporting submission, and make decisions on how to resolve issues to have the most accurate accounting
·Oversee NA S2P transit cash process, and liaison with Treasury, Intercompany and other respective teams on clearing issues, including direct debits, manual postings, and aged items unidentified
· Oversee and manage monthly and quarterly flux analysis process for S2P accounts and provide explanations used by A2R in the presentation to the A2R head, CFO, and Group Consolidations
·Manage global projects for the S2P department as they relate to accounting, including transitions of software for GL or reconciliation purposes, alignment of account reconciliations and processes to the Core Model, account analysis, which involves analyzing all accounts in scope and proposing write-offs of aged or incorrect activity
· Oversee the account reconciliation process by reviewing account reconciliations prepared by Accenture and ensuring all supporting documents are in accordance with internal control standards and submitted timely
· Coordinate transversally with A2R, Finance and Treasury on complex accounting issues and propose solutions
· Respond to questions from PWC, internal audit and A2R on any accounts in our scope
· Assists in Merger & Acquisition projects as it pertains to S2P Accounts including managing migrated accounting data and clearing such. Advising on pre-migration account entry determination.
**About You:**
· **Experience:** 7+ years of experience (certified accountant preferred).
· **Technical & Soft Skills:** Strong experience in S2P accounting domain. Experience in reconciliation (bank, vendor, supplier) and GR/IR accounting experience. Good experience in handling a team and reviewing reconciliations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong computer, organizational and time management skills are necessary. Working knowledge of SAP FI/CO/MM a plus. Public Accounting experience is preferred.
· **Education: Bachelor's** degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration from an accredited four-year college or university.

**What will you do**

- Manages the overall accounting close process (covering planning and execution) related to JAPAC region by collaborating with regional/country finance, Corporate functional teams, and 3rd party accounting providers, to align with the Corporate reporting process.
- Partnering with outsourced team to ensure the proper review and posting of journal entries, perform high quality review and certification of account reconciliations, and maintain robust closing process for the accurate and timely submission of the accounting close requirements to Corporate Accounting
- Actively participate and provide project support in financial/accounting integration activities, system and process improvement initiatives and implementation, including standardization and automation, and partnering with country, project and functional teams effectively
- Provide oversight, guidance and monitoring of the internal control environment of the JAPAC region
**Functional Area** :
- US GAAP Accounting and Reporting, IICC/SOX Oversight, SEC/US GAAP Reporting
- Ensures compliance with US GAAP and statutory reporting requirement
- Support expansion and growth of the region - implementation/integration of business, finance and accounting processes and related system roll out.
**Requirements / Experiences:**
+ Degree in accounting, finance or related discipline; CPA/Membership of recognized professional accountancy bodies preferred
+ Relevant Finance/Accounting experience with 10-12 years' exposure in a regional finance capacity gained from MNCs, preferably US Listed companies
+ Good working knowledge of key accounting processes, US GAAP reporting and experience with SOX controls
+ Project management skills with cross functional work experience to deliver regional wide projects on ERP, process improvements and system enhancement will be a plus
+ Good interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships with both internal and external collaborators to drive efficient processes to support a robust internal control environment
+ Demonstrated capability to learn quickly, take a hands-on approach, problem-solve, resilient, while being open and flexible to changes in a fast-paced, multinational environment
+ Prior working experiences in Pharmaceutical industry will be preferred.
