As a member of the Network Team within Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) organization, you will play a key role in delivering reliable and secure connectivity solutions for our customers. You'll be working closely with OCI customers to resolve complex network challenges, ensuring they can run their cloud services smoothly and without disruption, ultimately supporting the seamless operation of their businesses.

We are specifically looking for Technical Engineer(s) to join our group, who are customer-focused with technical support experience to build a world-first and best in class customer experience. You will be responsible for post-sales support; assisting customers to solve and resolve issues they face while using our Cloud services. You will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in Network management and troubleshooting
**Experience**
Interpersonal:
Good written and verbal English communication skills
Effectively communicate with people on both a technical and non-technical level

Self-motivated professional with the ability to work in a pressured production environment while not compromising on the quality of the service provided
A focus on customer service / satisfaction.
Technical:
Bachelor's degree, in Computer Science, MIS or related field
2+ years' experience in Infrastructure or related field
Experience supporting network and network security technologies, including:
Protocols such as BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, TCP, IPv4, IPv6, VxLAN, DNS, DHCP, MPLS, SSL
SDWAN
Routers and switches such as Cisco Nexus, Juniper MX, and Arista
Firewalls such as Fortinet, Juniper, and Palo Alto
Load balancers such as F5
In-depth knowledge of routing and switching
Experience performing regular capacity management functions for network and security components
Demonstrated ability to quickly troubleshoot network and network security problems to root cause, to restore service and to identify long term corrective and preventative actions
Work jointly with automation and monitoring teams to develop service-based monitoring metrics for security and routing functions
**Preferred Skills**
CCNA / CCNP Security OR Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) or equivalent
Technical understanding and practical application of network protocols and technology
VPN - IPSEC and SSL
Firewalls and load balancers, security policy management
Network / Security monitoring tools such as: SNMP, MTRG, Prometheus and Grafana etc.
Technical understanding and practical application of security support
Technical understanding and practical application of DevOps
Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery & Deployment Tools
Network as Code strategy
Familiarity of IaaS/PaaS/SaaS infrastructure/environments
Integration technologies (APIs)
Scripting experience in Ansible, Python, others
**Location & Schedule**
The position is based in Bangalore/Hyderabad/Noida -India.You are entitled to work on shifts with weekends other than Saturday and Sunday. You should be willing to support on national holidays and public holidays. And most importantly should be open to any Shift. This is a fulltime, permanent position.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Provide expert-level technical support for clients, addressing complex Azure cloud issues, advanced network problems, and in-depth troubleshooting, including Azure Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage, and Backup solutions.
  • Take ownership of escalated issues from lower-level analysts and provide in-depth analysis and resolution, applying your advanced technical expertise to resolve complex Azure-related problems efficiently, such as VM performance issues, network connectivity problems, storage management, and backup recovery.
  • Create and maintain detailed records of client interactions, issues, and resolutions in our ticketing system.
  • Identify and create detailed knowledge base articles and run books to provide guidance to lower-level analysts. Ensure that all documentation is comprehensive and accurate, serving as a valuable resource for future reference.
  • Identify potential issues and recommend improvements to clients' Azure environments. Implement proactive solutions to enhance performance and security, including optimizing Virtual Machines, improving network configurations, managing Azure Storage, and implementing effective backup strategies.
  • Utilize advanced infrastructure troubleshooting skills to detect potential issues and propose enhancements for clients' Azure environments. Implement proactive solutions aimed at optimizing performance and fortifying security, thereby mitigating the risk of downtime and data loss.
  • Lead and participate in IT projects, including Azure Virtual Machine deployments, network configurations, storage solutions, and backup implementations. Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful project delivery and minimal disruption to clients' operations.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of root cause analysis and implement effective solutions to complex technical challenges related to Azure Networking, Storage, Backup, and Virtual Machines. Act as a resource for the team in tackling intricate problems.
  • Keep clients informed about the status of their issues, provide timely updates, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. Maintain a proactive and customer-centric approach in all interactions.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and service level agreements (SLAs) in delivering IT support. Ensure all actions and communications align with our company's standards of professionalism and quality.
  • Participate in after-hours on-call rotation.


Requirements

  • Four to five years of experience providing infrastructure and cloud technical support.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in IT or related fields, or equivalent experience. Advanced certifications (e.G., Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, Cisco Certified Network Professional) are a plus.
  • Proficiency in Azure Cloud services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage, and Backup solutions. Experience with Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 applications, server operating systems, virtualization technologies, and advanced network concepts.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex Azure and IT concepts to non-technical users. Demonstrate patience and empathy when dealing with clients.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior team members, providing technical guidance and support in Azure cloud environments and related technologies.
  • Relevant IT certifications demonstrating advanced technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and leadership capabilities, particularly in Azure Cloud services.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Provide best support and solutions to our Customers through tickets, chat, emails, Premium Slack, phone.

  • Go through the chats & tickets on a weekly basis and check for the repeated issues which can be suggested as incremental improvements to devops and present them to Team Leads.
  • Be able to automate any procedure with the current operations that can save team time.
  • Monitor and react to different abuse reports (Slack and emails, etc.) in close coordination with crossfunctional teams.
  • Help junior team members with reaction to Alerts where needed on monitoring frameworks. (slack, sensu and zabbix)
  • Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues through live chat is PLUS
  • Job Specification:

  • BS/BE in Computer Science/Engineering or related field having 4-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Sound concepts and knowledge of programming (PHP knowledge, and preferably intermediate knowledge of some other languages like Javascript, HTML, CSS, Bash and Python knowledge would be a plus.)
  • Strong-Advanced knowledge of Linux operating environments (Debian, Ubuntu, Centos) and different web technologies (apache, nginx, varnish, memcache, mysql, apc, php-fpm, etc).
  • Advanced skill level in system performance troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of different services ((GIT, SMTP, DNS, OpenVPN, postfix, crons, SSL, Sensu)
  • Analysis of logs (sys, stack).
  • Debugging of open source application related issues.
  • Ability to cope up with new / unknown technical issues. Initiative in tackling new problems with an imaginative approach
  • Strong knowledge of web applications migration process (unknown issues, CMS migration, troubleshooting, perfection, Cpanel & other hostings knowledge, advance cli commands to pull data)
  • Working experience in PHP based Open Source web applications (Preferably: WordPress, Drupal, Magento etc).
  • Good experience with MySQL.
  • Good knowledge of monitoring tools like Opsgenie and Sensu etc.
  • Possess excellent analytical and decision making skills.
  • Should be an independent player who would be able to work independently on shifts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary due to the dynamic nature of collaborations with customers.
  • Strong understanding of systems and troubleshooting techniques.
