The Marketplace Trust team is responsible for mitigating content and abuse-related risks to Poshmark with a scope that falls under five main areas: Content Policy, Intellectual Property Operations, Prohibited Content, Scaled Abuse, and User Safety.
As an Associate Manager, Scaled Abuse and IP Ops, you will be responsible for managing a team of associates and related systems to identify and respond to risks related to abusers of Poshmark’s marketplace and intellectual property concerns.
**Candidates must be able to work a Monday - Friday schedule.**
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain controls systems, dashboards, and conduct ad-hoc analyses to detect fraudulent or abusive behavior and trends. This includes reviewing daily Sift routes and resolving key vulnerabilities at the root cause, conducting mass account restrictions as necessary, and implementing appropriate route updates to prevent similar abuse in the future.
- Monitor and maintain team KPIs including minimizing false positives across automated detection systems (precision) and working with partners to improve catch rate (recall).
- Maintain strong, productive partnerships with product, engineering, data analytics teams as well as relevant 3rd party vendors (Sift) to build adequate solutions for both emerging and established risk areas.
- Maintain positive and productive relationships with external intellectual property rights owners by expeditiously handling escalated notices of alleged IP infringement and counterfeit.
- Satisfy ad-hoc data needs by performing or partnering on analyses applicable to areas outside of primary domain as needed.
- Implement and document new methods, processes and procedures to optimize daily operations while mitigating user friction. This includes establishing new and revisiting previously established workflows to ensure operations remain operationally efficient and legally compliant.
- Support and develop junior team members to effectively perform their respective area of specialization and related career aspirations by regularly coaching and mentoring direct reports through weekly or biweekly 1:1s and regularly sharing respectful, timely and actionable feedback.
- Foster a collaborative, optimistic, and resilient team environment inclusive of diverse perspectives. This includes facilitating regular team collaboration spaces, setting clear, ambitious performance expectations, and being a positive role model for leadership and engagement.
- Keep the Director, Marketplace Trust informed of projects, progress, setbacks, and plans via weekly or more frequent memos as needed.
Requirements
- 3+ years experience in Trust & Safety, preferably in Content moderation
- 1+ years experience in leadership role(s)
- Experience working collaboratively to measurably improve processes
- Has sharp attention to detail with the ability to recognize patterns
- Approaches problems with curiosity and makes sound decisions based on objective factors
- Demonstrates clear written and verbal communication
- Operates with composure and resilience in moments of change or uncertainty
- Basic knowledge of Looker or other data visualization tools (preferred)
