Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer with expertise in Apigee X and Apigee Hybrid to architect, manage, and secure API management solutions on Google Cloud Platform. The engineer will lead efforts in provisioning, designing, monitoring, and troubleshooting Apigee API gateways while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure robust API security and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
• Provision, configure, and manage Apigee X and Apigee Hybrid platforms, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
• Design and deploy API proxies and products tailored to backend services.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting for Apigee environments using GCP native tools and third-party solutions.
• Provide security guidance and apply industry best practices to protect APIs and backend services.
• Troubleshoot complex issues affecting Apigee proxies and backend integrations promptly.
• Collaborate with development and security teams to integrate GCP services such as Cloud Armor and Operations Suite with Apigee.
• Automate deployment and configuration tasks related to Apigee environments using scripting and Infrastructure as Code principles where applicable.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation on architecture, configurations, and procedures related to Apigee platforms.
Qualifications:
• Strong hands-on experience with Apigee X and Apigee Hybrid platform provisioning and management.
• Good understanding of API lifecycle management including proxy creation and product/application design.
• Experience with GCP services integration and API security best practices.
• Proven troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for API platform issues.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools within GCP and Apigee ecosystems.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash) and automation tools is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
