**Job Summary**: As a **Logistics & Import Coordinator**, you will be responsible for overseeing the transportation, logistics, and importation of goods for our organization. You will play a key role in managing import operations, coordinating with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure efficient and timely delivery of imported materials while maintaining compliance with regulations.
**Responsibilities**:
- **Import Planning and Execution**: Develop and implement import strategies, coordinating with suppliers and carriers to schedule shipments, optimize transportation routes, and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- **Customs Compliance**: Ensure compliance with all customs regulations and import/export laws, including the preparation and submission of import documentation, customs declarations, and certificates of origin.
- **Supplier Relationship Management**: Maintain relationships with international suppliers, negotiating shipping terms, rates, and delivery schedules to optimize logistics operations and minimize lead times.
- **Carrier Coordination**: Collaborate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and other carriers to secure transportation services, negotiate freight rates, and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
- **Risk Management**: Identify and mitigate risks related to import operations, such as customs delays, port congestion, or transportation disruptions, implementing measures to minimize disruptions and maintain supply chain continuity.
- **Inventory Control**: Work closely with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure accurate receipt, storage, and tracking of imported goods, optimizing inventory levels and minimizing stockouts.
- **Cost Optimization**: Analyze import-related costs and expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings through process improvements, carrier negotiations, or alternative transportation routes.
- **Documentation Management**: Oversee the preparation, review, and maintenance of import documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- **Performance Monitoring**: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to import logistics, such as transit times, customs clearance efficiency, and freight costs, and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
- **Team Leadership**: Provide guidance and support to junior logistics coordinators, delegating tasks, and ensuring adherence to import procedures and quality standards.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, international business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience in logistics and import coordination, with a strong understanding of customs regulations, import/export procedures, Freight Negotiations, CHA Coordination and international trade compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Leadership abilities, with experience in supervising all the logistics & import activities.
