**Job Description**
* Under limited supervision, responsible for moderately complex technical work in a wide range of environmental, safety and health disciplines to achieve compliance with ES&H standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements.
* Maintains current knowledge of specific government agency requirements.
* Exhibits knowledge and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of their environmental specialty.
* Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions.

The Functional Safety Engineer will be responsible for the ISO 26262 safety plan implementation for the Silicon Solutions Group (SSG) IP's (including but not limited to processors, hardware accelerators and controllers) targeted for automotive products, and development of ISO 26262 compliant processes, infrastructure and work products. + Act as Functional Safety Engineer for Cadence/SSG Safety related HW & SW products

- 3+ years of experience in process safety engineering within the chemical or petrochemical industry.
- Thorough understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles and standards (e.g., OSHA 29 CFR ).
- Proficiency in conducting hazard identification and risk assessment techniques (HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA).
- Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and SIL assessment.
- Experience with Management of Change (MOC) and incident investigation processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with relevant safety software and tools.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification is a plus.
