Position: Technical Project Lead
Role Overview : The Technical Project Lead will play a pivotal role in driving our team of talented software engineers to new achievements.This position demands an inspiring leader with a blend of technical process and excellent management skills to oversee the development of high-profile web and mobile applications. You will lead your project team technically and interpersonally: from the initial definition of the most worthwhile tasks to pursue, through technical grooming,
oversight and troubleshooting. You will coach and guide your team to help them excel and grow.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team of front-end, back-end, UI developers, and QA engineers towards successful project deliverables.
- Set clear project objectives and refine project plans in collaboration with project managers.
- Schedule and assign tasks, ensuring appropriate workload distribution and role alignment.
- Offer ongoing guidance, mentorship, and support to the team, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
- Optimise application performance, maintaining a balance between quality and efficiency.
Requirements:
- At least 6 -8 years of software development and subsequent project management experience with a track record of leading a team of 5-10 software engineers.
- Strong technical foundation in building and supporting scalable, reusable software.
- Proficiency in Agile (Scrum) methodologies and a solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to manage organisational priorities and workflow.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to set team goals and expectations.
- Conduct technical grooming of user stories into short, actionable tasks.
- Estimate task durations and identify dependencies, ensuring efficient task execution.
- Allocate tasks based on team member skills, promoting effective team utilisation.
- Lead sprint planning and participate in all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Monitor development, proactively identifying and navigating problems and estimate changes as they arise in order to avoid inefficiency or delay.
- Troubleshoot engineers’ technical issues directly and by involving appropriate specialists.
- Champion creativity and empowerment within the team, resolving conflicts and nurturing collaboration.
- Generate weekly status reports for stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Develop, document, enforce, and monitor adherence to software development standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in designing and implementing system workflows.
- At least 6 years of hands-on experience in software development. 2–3 years of demonstrated experience as a Technical Project Lead or in a similar leadership role, managing engineering teams of 5–10 members.
- Certification in Project Management practices is preferred though not mandatory.
Technical skills:
Any one of the programming language - (Java Script, Java, Python), SQL queries, JSON, Regular Expressions, Understanding of HTTP methods and their contracts.
