Role Description

  • Oversee preparation, verification, and submission of all export-import documentation (Invoices, Packing Lists, LC documents, BL, COO, etc.).

Candidate Profile


  • Education: MBA – International Business Administration (Preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in export-import documentation, with managerial/lead role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of INCOTERMS, export-import laws, customs regulations, and international trade practices.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems, Salesforce CRM, and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.

  • Perform deemed-export customer screening against MK Denial, Dow Jones, and other sanctioned-party lists.
  • Periodically reconcile, update, and release or block entries in SAP based on the latest sanctioned party data.
  • Analyze anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) scope on the part.
  • Conduct Free Trade Agreement (FTA) eligibility reviews for USMCA, US-KR, and other agreements.
  • Analyze bills of materials and apply rules of origin to determine parts which are eligible for FTA duty claim
  • Knowledge of SAP or other ERP system, GTS is a plus

The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of Indian Customs law, foreign trade policy (FTP), the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), SCOMET regulations, and the specific regulatory frameworks that govern these schemes. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth, compliant, and cost-effective cross-border movement of goods. The candidate will need to leverage SEZ and MOOWR's benefits while mitigating risks.


Key Responsibilities:

Scheme Management & Compliance:

  • Oversee day-to-day import/export operations for units registered under SEZ, MOOWR.
  • Ensure full compliance with the SEZ Act & Rules, MOOWR Regulations (including Customs Act, the Foreign Trade Policy, and associated Customs/GST regulations.
  • Manage the application, amendment, and renewal processes for SEZ/EOU Letters of Permission (LOP) and MOOWR licenses.
  • Ensure adherence to specific scheme conditions, such as value addition norms, and operational procedures.


Customs Operations & Documentation:

  • Prepare, review, and file necessary customs documentation for imports and exports under these schemes, including Bills of Entry (for Warehousing, Home Consumption, Ex-Bond), Shipping Bills, ARE forms, etc.
  • Manage customs bonding requirements (Bond-cum-LUT for SEZ, Triple Duty Bond for MOOWR), including execution, monitoring, and cancellation.
  • Coordinate with Customs House Agents (CHAs) for trade compliance and practices followed.
  • Handle customs valuation procedures, classification (HSN), and duty calculations (including deferred duty under MOOWR and duty payment on DTA sales).
  • IDPMS & EDPMS Compliance with Closer with respective, Monitor the Import Data Processing and Monitoring System (IDPMS) portal/reports from Authorized Dealer (AD) Banks for tracking Bills of Entry (BoE). Prepare and submit BoE data/documents to AD banks within the stipulated RBI timelines for closure of IDPMS entries.


Warehouse & Inventory Management (esp. SEZ & MOOWR):

  • Oversee compliant receipt, storage, processing, and removal of goods within bonded premises (SEZ & MOOWR).
  • Ensure maintenance of accurate, digitally prescribed records for receipt, storage, operations, and removal of goods (e.g., Bond Register, material consumption records).
  • Manage procedures for inter-unit transfers, job work (subcontracting) to/from DTA/other units, and waste/scrap disposal as per regulations.


Regulatory Reporting & Audits:

  • Prepare and submit periodic reports required by Development Commissioners (SEZ) and Customs authorities (MOOWR), such as MPR, APR, QPR, and monthly returns for bonded warehouses.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customs audits, SEZ & MOOWR authority inspections, and internal compliance reviews related to trade operations.
  • Ensure timely resolution of queries or discrepancies raised by authorities.


Process Improvement & Advisory:

  • Stay updated on changes in India's FTP, Customs laws, SEZ rules, MOOWR regulations, GST, and other relevant trade policies.
  • Analyses the impact of regulatory changes on business operations and advises management on necessary actions.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and duty savings within the compliance framework of SEZ/MOOWR schemes.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders (logistics, procurement, finance, manufacturing) on trade compliance requirements.
  • Liaise effectively with government authorities (Customs, DGFT, SEZ Development Commissioners, GST) as required.


Essential Attributes

The Trade Compliance Analyst (Trade Compliance Manager) helps ensure that the entity's activities comply with all export control regulations (national and international), restrictive measures (sectoral or general) and, where applicable, customs regulations.

  • Main tasks:

Within his or her scope at site level, the Trade Compliance Manager has the following main responsibilities:

  • Contribute to development and deployment of the entity's Trade Compliance program, and the transformation and change pathways required to evolve the position;
  • Support, through expertise, all relevant functions by providing an analysis of the applicable constraints, by alerting where appropriate to the risks and by proposing solutions that comply with the regulations in force.
  • Support business priorities by assessing all requirements for classification of supplies and technologies used (both internal and external), license applications needed for import and export, and by screening the stakeholders involved;
  • Analyze the regulatory constraints and risks on each transaction involving the business or its staff, share as necessary with the entity's Legal Director and the BL's Trade Compliance Manager to support the strategy to be put in place, and independently address the targeted constraints while protecting the BL and its staff;
  • Contribute, under the responsibility of the entity's Legal Director or the BL's Trade Compliance Manager, to relations with competent authorities and stakeholders. The Trade Compliance Supervisor position for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics plays a critical role in ensuring the company's trade compliance practices are conducted in accordance with the rules and regulatory requirements of Customs authorities and other applicable governmental agencies. This role is critical to ensure our products meet origin qualification requirements for global trade, helping the company access cost-saving programs and comply with complex international regulations.

direct, assist with, and participate in, the following activities in support of our Trade Compliance Program:

  • Supervise and support a team responsible for country of origin determinations, Free Trade Agreement (FTA) qualifications, Foreign Direct Product (FDP) Rule analysis, and related bill of material reviews.
  • Set daily and weekly priorities for the team to ensure work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional partners such as sourcing, engineering, and global trade teams to gather needed data and resolve issues.
  • Ensure team decisions align with internal policies, procedures, and applicable trade regulations.
  • Monitor and report on operational performance metrics; proactively address risks or backlogs.
  • Provide coaching, support, and professional development for direct reports, helping to build team capability.
  • Work within the global trade compliance framework to ensure alignment and share best practices across regions.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Experience in trade compliance – Minimum 4 years of experience in trade compliance, with focus on origin determination, FTA qualification, or related activities.
  • Leadership experience – At least 2 years of experience directly managing or supervising staff.
  • Operational and problem-solving skills – Ability to set team objectives, monitor metrics, and troubleshoot classification or qualification issues effectively.
  • Communication and collaboration – Strong ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels and work across functions and regions.

Job Summary:

Collects trade compliance and other product-related data to ensure full adherence to local, national, and international regulatory requirements. Develops ad hoc reports, designs processes and workflows, prepares supporting documentation, and recommends process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Conducts technical data research to accurately classify trade compliance information, including Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs)
  • Utilizes supplier documentation to determine additional product attributes such as UN hazardous codes and UNSPSC codes
  • Processes ad hoc compliance classification requests from internal stakeholders
  • Identifies and interprets customs rulings and explanatory notes to ensure accurate HTS classifications
  • Archives and maintains supporting documentation for compliance purposes
  • Maintains compliance data in systems of record
  • Provides reporting on completed work
  • Meets objectives related to deadlines, data completeness, and data accuracy (quality)
  • Maintains metadata to support the automated assignment of data
  • Administers quality audit processes to ensure accurate data collection and classification within the team
  • Stays informed of emerging compliance developments and assesses the impact of changing legislative requirements
  • Develops and maintains detailed work instructions
  • Provides training and guidance to other employees
  • Continuously improves compliance processes and the overall compliance framework

Job Level Specifications:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Work is performed under minimal guidance and assigned in the form of desired expectations. Independent judgment is used to determine best approach, and creativity is expected to achieve maximum results and handle new situations.
