The Trade Compliance Supervisor position for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics plays a critical role in ensuring the company's trade compliance practices are conducted in accordance with the rules and regulatory requirements of Customs authorities and other applicable governmental agencies. This role is critical to ensure our products meet origin qualification requirements for global trade, helping the company access cost-saving programs and comply with complex international regulations.

Description

The initial focus of the Regulatory Compliance Manager is Export Control matters. This includes resolving potential DPL matches, transactional work with stakeholders, review of compliance holds on strategic or controlled goods-based end use/end user. The Regulatory Compliance Manager is responsible for collating and analyzing metrics related to export controls. The job will also involve supporting integration of systematic export controls into ERP systems. The role will develop and extend into areas of Customs (import/export) operational controls and will be responsible for process improvement and productivity improvements in that area.

  • Be a subject matter expert and escalation person for matters related to trade compliance – export control, sanctions, Customs compliance.

  • Be a facilitator to design and implement improved trade compliance programs working with vendors, brokers, and related internal and external business partners.

    Your Focus

    As Trade Compliance Specialist, you will manage import and export activities to fully comply with local and global regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures in efficient and effective manner.


    The role is Mumbai, India based and will report to Senior Manager, Regional Trade Asia Pacific.


    How you will contribute

  • Understand local and international trade related laws and regulations.
  • Oversee and communicate regulatory changes with the development of best practices.
  • Provide Trade related advice to Business on daily basis, including but not limited to HS code classification, Inco-term explanation, special scheme, etc. 
  • Lead and participate communication with local Customs when required.
  • Support Business project and develop compliant trade solution per requirement (Special Economic Zone, etc).
  • Drive cost savings, especially in customs duty savings from FTAs, duty incentives and other programs.
  • Lead internal and external trade related audit in India.
  • Conduct training to internal customers and improve awareness of trade regulations.
  • Monitor, track, and report India import and export metrics.
  • Customs broker management and regular review.
  • Connect with Global Trade team and participate global project.
  • Job Requirements

    What you will need to be successful

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Logistics or any other relevant discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in import and export operation.
  • Good experience in SAP.
  • Project management experience will be preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Team player who enjoys working in a team and high ethical standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Openness, ability to change and continuous improvement.
  • The Pharma Solutions business will be taking on its next chapter of growth as a trusted partner for the pharmaceutical industry with the announcement to sell Pharma Solutions to Roquette. This move will position Pharma Solutions to expand its industry leadership through continued investment in innovation to meet the evolving needs of pharmaceutical manufacturers and developers worldwide.
    The sale is presently expected to close in the first half of 2025, pending regulatory approvals and other closing conditions. The Pharma Solutions business unit will remain a part of IFF until close and, at such time, it will transition to Roquette.     Job Summary:

    Collects trade compliance and other product-related data to ensure full adherence to local, national, and international regulatory requirements. Develops ad hoc reports, designs processes and workflows, prepares supporting documentation, and recommends process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

    Principal Responsibilities:

  • Conducts technical data research to accurately classify trade compliance information, including Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs)
  • Utilizes supplier documentation to determine additional product attributes, such as DMASS semiconductor market data classification, product packaging, units of measure, WEEE categorization, battery categorization, CE type classification, net weight, IMDS data, and more.
  • Processes ad hoc compliance classification requests from internal stakeholders
  • Identifies and interprets customs rulings and explanatory notes to ensure accurate HTS classifications
  • Archives and maintains supporting documentation for compliance purposes
  • Maintains compliance data in systems of record, such as SAP
  • Provides reporting on completed work
  • Meets objectives related to deadlines, data completeness, and data accuracy (quality)
  • Maintains metadata to support the automated assignment of data

  • Knowledge of US Export Administration Regulation and APJ Import and Export regulations.
