Our client, a pioneering aerospace corporation, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Aerospace Engineer with expertise in Flight Systems to join their cutting-edge research and development team. This role is crucial for designing, analyzing, and testing the flight control systems and avionics of next-generation aircraft and spacecraft. You will be instrumental in ensuring the safety, performance, and reliability of complex aerospace vehicles. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in aeronautical engineering principles, extensive experience with simulation tools, and a passion for innovation in the aerospace sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and integrate flight control systems, autopilots, and avionics for various aerospace platforms.
  • Conduct aerodynamic analysis, performance simulations, and stability assessments using advanced modeling software.
  • Develop and validate flight software algorithms and control laws.
  • Perform system-level testing and verification, including hardware-in-the-loop simulations and flight testing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to flight systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and performance reports.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in aerospace technology and flight control systems.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in aerospace engineering, with a specialization in flight systems or control systems.
  • Proven experience with flight dynamics, control theory, and system identification.
  • Proficiency in simulation software such as MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS, or similar.
  • Experience with C/C++ programming for real-time embedded systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of avionics hardware and software interfaces.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Experience with DO-178C or other aviation certification standards is a plus.
