The US payroll team manages payroll for approximately 1,300 employees in the US. The role is responsible for managing payroll, varying in size and complexity, with adherence to policy, compliance, and legislation. It requires strong communication skills to liaison with payroll providers, internal business partners, revenue authorities, and other third parties.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for Payroll administration in the US by ensuring activities are undertaken and deadlines met.
- Calculate payable hours, commissions, bonuses, tax withholding and deductions.
- Understand our complex business needs and manage expectations.
- Prepare payroll inputs for timely processing.
- Review and approve provider prepared payroll against the approved payroll inputs.
- Process queries by monitoring tickets (ServiceNow) ensuring SLA is met.
Experience and Skills
Past Experience:
Must have 5 plus years of hands-on payroll experience in ADP EV5 or EV6.
Strong Communication skills.
Ability to prioritize, multitask and meet tight deadlines.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Proficient with Outlook and Excel.
Demonstrate ability to work independently in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.

Job Description
- Manages and maintains employee payroll database. Responsible for integrity of pay rate, direct deposit, social security number or global equivalent, tax withholding, and other payroll related information. Reviews data entry input after each payroll process.
- Compares data from HRIS system and Payroll systems daily and updates payroll system as needed. Researches any fallout for root cause with IT to correct.
- Validates and does the first approval of reconciliations between time entry system and SAP
- Validates overtime, vacation, sick, jury duty and hours calculations worked on a weekly basis.
- Analysis the reconciliations of time tracking system and integration output and assists the team in resolving any discrepancies.
- Validates operational jobs as outlined on the payroll transmittal and ensure the accuracy of each job through the calculation stage of the payroll process.
- Works with disability carriers to coordinate calculation and payment of supplemental sick payments.
- Assists in researching and resolving any imbalances with variance report before payroll is accepted.
- Drives process improvement in all processes and procedures within payroll.
- First escalation point in all employee queries via email or ticketing system and monitors the responses to ensure it is within SLA.
Qualification -
- Bachelor s degree in business, Accounting, or related field, and/or the combined equivalent of experience and education.
- Demonstrable skills in the Microsoft Excel, and Word
- Strong technical and hands on experience with payroll
- High ability to be adaptable and flexible
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge of payroll related regional regulations and payroll requirements
- Excellent judgement, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team player

As part of the Global Payroll Center of Excellence, the Payroll Administrator will play a critical role in delivering Payroll Services across multiple countries. This incumbent will work cross-functionally with HR and other internal and external Stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely salaries of associates, whilst also identifying and executing continuous improvements to processes. The role reports directly to the Payroll Manager and will support our Payroll function at NielsenIQ.
**Responsibilities**:
- Payroll processing activities, supporting the Payroll teams to ensure pay is processed on time, accurately, completely and in compliance with all regulations.
- Support with year end payroll processes.
- Ensure all SOX compliant controls relevant to the payroll process are executed
- Support with internal and external audit and tax-related activities, including preparation of data and evidence as required
- Support with Finance and HR queries
- Build positive relationships to ensure successful collaborations to be able to respond to internal payroll questions, and handle ad-hoc payroll requests.
- Support with payroll and ad hoc reports as required
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum of 2 years of admin experience ideally in a Finance / payroll environment
- Attention to detail, professional awareness, and sense of urgency for employee questions; be able to spot errors or exceptions quickly.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communicator and collaborator.
- SAP experience a plus.
