Role Purpose :

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – Purchase to support and streamline procurement operations in our tech-driven organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing technology-related products and services, managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely procurement aligned with project and operational requirements.

The responsibilities we entrust you with :

• Assist in developing and implementing purchasing strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Source and evaluate vendors for IT hardware /software, Admiration / HR / Legal/ Operations / service contracts.
• Handle RFQs/RFPs, price negotiations, and vendor onboarding.
• Monitor inventory levels and forecast procurement needs in coordination with internal departments.
• Prepare purchase orders, track deliveries, and ensure timely fulfilment.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and budget constraints.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (user, Projects, Finance, Legal) to ensure alignment of purchasing goals.
• Maintain vendor performance records and conduct periodic evaluations.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and support continuous improvement in procurement processes.
• Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and supplier innovations.

What matters in this role :

Relevant work experience :

• 4–6 years of experience in procurement, preferably within a tech or IT company.

Qualifications :

• Profession bachelor’s degree / certificate in related field.
• Knowledge of procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Zoho).
• Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Understanding of IT products (hardware/software/services) procurement is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, reporting, and documentation.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Purchase right quality at the right cost. Ensure timely delivery.

Major Accountabilities:-

* Identify alternative / new products in the market, undertake cost -benefit analysis and present to the management.

* Handle end to end procurement of the assigned material and ensure timely delivery of materials at sites and timely payment to suppliers.

* Control Inventory by optimizing lot size and reducing delivery lead time.

* Transfer excess dead stock to other sites.

* Create Relationships with vendor by finding out their performance from market and undertake joint

* Improvement projects with them.

* Effective coordination with all sites. Regular site visits.

* Creating strong networking within and outside the organization.

* Continuous monitoring, review & taking timely corrective action to achieve the targets

Candidate Requirements :-

* Expert in construction material Handle end to end procurement of the assigned material and

ensure timely delivery of materials at sites and timely payment to suppliers.

* Enhance value of the product / services and make annual rate contracts obtain alternate

products / vendors or substituting the OEM's.

* He should have Good negotiation skills / presentation skill for effective coordination with all

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Project Management

• Collaborate with product manager, engineering, and vendors to develop new products and bring new products to the market or redesign the products to achieve cost competitiveness.
• Lead project and influence different functions to achieve goals, assure result accomplish and deliver on time.
• Know the potential quality risk, know how to improve product cost - increase production efficiency, re-engineering, material changing, etc.
• Approaches tasks and projects in a streamlined manner; applied knowledge of processes, product, and resources to minimize rework and maximize efficiency.
• Collaborate with product manager, engineering, and vendors to develop new products and bring new products to the market or redesign the products to achieve cost competitiveness.

2.Vendor Management

• Maintain effective business relationship with vendors associated with assigned product categories; Understand vendor impact on overall business and product category;
• Proactively be aware of potential changes with vendors or in related manufacturing industry; Monitors contract compliance. Leads supplier score card process.
• Keep challenging existing vendor pool, identify high potential vendors, sourcing risk mitigation plan.

Qualification:

1.Education level: Bachelor’s Degree and above

2.Working experience:

• Have working experience in procurement function in textile products is a must, the experiences in a health care company or a regional sourcing center will be a plus;
• Have new product development experience;
• Have new supplier development experience;

3.Language: English

• To procure all project related items based on the priorities for implementation of projects
• Float inquires with technically approved datasheet to Existing /Prospective vendors
• Negotiate and finalize order based on technical bid analysis for engineering equipment
• Follow up and deliver the equipment at site based on the project time lines
• FInalise procurement of Engineering / Fabricated items and equipment and related services. Bought out and Non-Bought.
• Organize the purchase activities for optimum output from team members
• Check new Development activities in SAP like New testing & validation in quality server. Problem resolving of the same, co-ordinate with the Helpdesk SAP team to get the required implementations from MM point of view. Co-Ordinate for the new material code creation activity.
• Work closely with the store and user function for reconciliation and resolution of issues related to supplies received.
• Budget cost and timeline verification for the new project and proposals
• Verification of the Invoices based on the purchased items.
• Guide the team for the timely procurement of the Engineering, General items and equipment services
• To suggest new solutions to the Technical and development team from the current market developments and from Vendors feedback.
• To keep abreast technical developments for our operation related equipment’s in the Market

Qualification

:

B.E. (Mechanical/Chemical) preferably with any formal education in supply chain

Work Experience :

Min 7-8 years of the experience in Project & Engineering procurement with hands on knowledge of SAP

Critical Skills / Special Requirements

Knowledge of SAP. Good Team Leader.

Good Interpersonal skills for working with peer group.
